Good stay hotel needs renovation
Pros:

YMCA, it's a heritage property and located in the middle of the market. Washroom cleanliness needs more attention specially in the lobby. Reception is not available until 07:30 am
Tried dinner and food was good.

Courteous security incharge. Central location to go around the city. The colonial style in house cafe offering continental style breakfast.

Cons:

Though the vintage and colonial style building is impressive, it needs lots more attention and upkeep to bring back the charm and aesthetics. The entrance was damp and wet, it looked like it was water logged for a few days, the common areas were dusty. Rooms were quite spacious with antique furniture and the stay was comfortable but don't expect luxury

Stupidity in choosing a hotel
Pros:

The staff except the Manager were very good. Room was cleaned and the linen were changed everyday.
The food was good, price of food was reasonable and the restaurant staff were very cooperative.

Cons:

The attached bathroom was very very smelly. The bad smell was so terrible and persistant that, it caused almost headache. Moreover, there was no ventilation in the bathroom.
The windows in the room were locked. No views from the room. It was suffocating.
The fridge of the room was filthy and unusable.
The lobby just outside the room was noticably dirty.
The shops and crowd at the gate of the hotel are annoying.
The air cooler behaved mysteriously.
The tv channels were very confusing. Even one hotel staff failed to find IPL on the channels.
The Manager initially was cooperative, but later became rude and behaved in very offending manner.
