Beautiful yard, a lot hummingbirds and other birds. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Meals are very delicious. He brought us out to different reserves to see hummingbirds and other birds. Great for birding and relaxing.
Mindo Loma Lodge Review
The property is about 20 minutes from downtown Mindo, yet the distance and surrounding bird sanctuaries gave it a peaceful quietness and solitude I truly enjoyed. The staff felt more like family than hotel employees, making my stay warm and welcoming. In just two days, I felt like I gained both a spotless room and a caring family.
This is a lovely spot nestled in the forest. Quiet and peaceful. The hosts are super nice and accommodating. Patricio is a bird guide and has created a beautiful space with a hiking trail right out of the door that leads to a beautiful waterfall. We heard birds right as we got out of the car. It is walking distance to Las Cotingas as well. The food was excellent, we had a trout lunch. Breakfast was delicious. We saw frogs, moths, walking sticks, hummingbirds, tanagers, and lots of other kinds of birds. Overall I would definitely recommend this and return again!
It’s a great location and a beautiful setting. We had breakfast and lunch out in the garden near the hummingbird and tanager birdfeeders, and the birds were so active that I had to keep on jumping up every 45 seconds to take another photo! But what I most appreciated was the extraordinary kindness, generosity, and attentiveness of the owners Patricio and Camila, as well as the rest of the staff. They catered to our every need. Patricio also went above and beyond by helping us with the logistical arrangements for several day trips and tours we took, and Patricio and Camila even personally drove us to at no charge to one of the best local birdwatching sites. I have never felt so warmly received in any commercial establishment in my life, and I would go back in a heartbeat!

The stay at Mindo Bird Lodge was excellent. The room may not have been 5 star, but it was comfortable and close to the action. The birds are all around. you can sit under cover and have birds fly right by you. Thev private waterfall is incedible - you feel like you are the only one to have ever been there. Such a great place.
It was all good, just a little more rustic than than I was expecting. Wonderful host who can also act as your guide and show you the district's wonders.
