BUGS in a Marriott was not on my bucket list. My husband and I stayed for business travel. We took a nap after a long day of traveling and woke up to ANTS all over the tables, all in our bed.
After calling the front desk to ask for a change in room, and to explain how scared we were that the bugs were going to get in our bags, the front desk guy asked old us to put our luggage on the luggage holder to prevent them getting in ????
As a travel TikToker (who typically recommends Marriott across the world) I’m planning to post this so people don’t stay here. This has changed my entire outlook on Marriott and its standards.
We’re now leaving the hotel (at 12 AM) to find another hotel because I can’t sleep in a bug infested hotel.
Everything was nice inside! Everything was comfortable. Excellent shower pressure.
Well, location first off was a little sketchy. We also had ants invade our counter under the tv. Also, when we left to go to a concert, we left our curtains open. Probably shouldn’t have because we were on a first floor room, and there were handprints on the outside of the window, showing someone tried to break in.
Did not have. Had to leave early.
modern and nice, great coffee shop
We arrived late from a long drive. Settled into the room only to find our bathrrom sink pipe was broken and leaking all the water onto the floor. We used the ice bucket to put under the pipe. My husband went down to the front desk and was asked what he wanted to do about it. We were then given another room so all 4 people in the room had to pack up and move down the hall. This problem was very likely known by the housecleaners, but was left for the next guests to deal with. We ended up having a comfortable overnight in the other room and friendly workers at the coffee shop.
I've never written a hotel review, but people need to beware of this awful hotel. For starters, the check in desk is so close to the automatic doors that no matter how far you move into the lobby, they will continually open and close. Which is annoying, especially when the check in process is slow and it's cold out. And speaking of check in, I checked in on the Bonvoy app and selected a mobile key only to learn that this hotel does not have mobile keys. My check in process was so slow that as I was still standing at the desk checking in, my colleague came down and said that the balcony door in her room wouldn't close. So naturally, I checked the door to my balcony. Not only would it not close, there was a quarter inch gap with the rain and bugs and loud highway sounds coming in (see picture). I then went back down to the front desk where they told me I just needed to slam the sliding door really hard. Slamming the door would not have helped. The handles and latches were so old school and the metal piece that would have held the door in place was fully bent. We then ventured out to a nice dinner (shoutout to the Preacher's Son) and returned to the hotel by 9 hoping for a night cap only to learn that this property does not have a liquor license and does not even sell wine or beer in their market. The bed was fine. Everything else was really cheap and sad for almost $300/night! I will not be staying here again.
Nice hotel
Nice place friendly staff
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and well appointed. We had an issue with our refrigerator which they attended to immediately.
Carpets and linens were stained
I don’t think the staff at the front desk knew what she was doing. My check in experience was terrible. I’ve never had an issue with checking in. I’ve been traveling for nearly 20 years where the host pays for the room and I just pay the incidentals with my personal card. She made it seem that because we used two different cards it caused an issue. I spent 20 mins or more trying to figure that out and trying to use different cards because the reader wouldn’t accept any of my cards. Insane
