Rustic maldavian accomodation in centre of island. Easy to reach all amenities. The only hotel with a pool on the island. Hotel staff were lovely.
The location is very close to the local mosque so the calls to prayer are extremely loud, especially at 5.15am. The breakfast was monotonous, the same thing everyday. Also when going on trips the takeaway breakfast was always the same and we had to ask for water everytime.
Some of the decor was dated, I.e. rotten wooden door frame in our bathroom.
Perla do arrange trips but they have competition with a new provider across the street and Perlas prices and service do not compare unfortunately. They need to do some homework.

Die Betten sind zwar schmal (für große Menschen) aber sehr bequem.
Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut und ausreichend.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und auch im Vorfeld bestand eine gute Kommunikation. Die Transfers kann man direkt über das Hotel reservieren und funktioniert perfekt.
Bei der Rezeption stehen immer frische Strand-/Badetücher zur Verfügung.

Das Hotel verfügt am Bikinibeach über Strandliegen (mit "Perla" gekennzeichnet) aber da sich keiner darum kümmert, werden diese von allen anderen Gästen der Insel belegt. Somit müsste man zeitig in der Früh zum Strand gehen um diese zu "reservieren" (was ich mühsam finde).
The hotel was great. The staff were extremely accommodating making arrangements for us to have early breakfasts on days we were diving. Its location is a short walk to the jetty, the harbour and the restaurant’s. Nice pool which was very clean, towels were provided for the pool and the beach.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was quite good. They arranged 3 single beds which was very nice and the air-conditioning worked great. They had a special beach dinner for us on Christmas with lights and music which was fun. Conveniently accepted euros and USD at great exchange rates. Helped coordinate the speed boat transfers and provided golf cart rides to and from the jetty for ourselves and our bags.
Staying on a local island is a completely different experience than staying at a resort island (think loud prayer time in the early morning , no alcohol, etc) so you must manage your expectations. This property is a bit tired and the pictures seem from an earlier time. The shower needs to be cleaned thoroughly of mildew and the water heater never went above luke warm. The toilet didn't flush well. The food was probably the tastiest on the island, but the restaurant has no vibe or view and the rooftop is unusable, so we preferred the beachside cafes. While the staff was so friendly and made it worth it, I would rather try a different hotel next time, especially one with private beach access (bikini beach is run down, full of broken plastic loungers and trash--more a review for the island than the hotel). Bring your bug spray!!!
Great hospitality, helpful staff, cozy and clean rooms and a good location . The hotel helped with everything including booking speedboat, packed breakfast when we went scuba diving early in the morning, recommendations on the island and the food we had was very good.
Really comfortable bed, nice pool and great food!
They provide new towels daily and also towels for the pool/beach. Snorkeling equipment is also provided which is plus.
But the most valuable and important thing to me was the way that we were treated…
The staff was amazingly kind during our entire stay, specially Garmii and Anik (sorry if the names are not correctly written 😅). The people in the island are also very friendly. It felt like home and our vacations were even better just because of this, it really made a difference. Thank you for receiving us so well!
Just some points for improvement:
- The cleaning of the shower could be improved and there are some signs of rust (at least in our room)
- The hotel should reinforce about personal hygiene of the cleaning workers
About the tours booked in the hotel:
- In my opinion, the tours guides have to be better prepared… I know the nature is unpredictable and there is no 100% you can see the whale shark or even the mantas, but since the odds are low, at least for the whale shark, I think it helps having a drone to search and speed boats really fast to increase the odds of seeing these animals. We later noticed that there were other companies that were better prepared and that makes a huge difference in my opinion. Spending hours in the boat just searching through eyes is a needle in a haystack. But maybe next time we get to see them!
For the guests to come, also do not forget (like I did), that this is a local island, there is a mosque nearby, and prayers broadcast through loudspeakers, even in the night.
Perla exceeded my expectations the moment Dominic greet us at the port, him and the entire team were super friendly and went above and beyond for their guests… even arranging us a private trip to the sandbank last minute. Nothing is too much trouble for this team.
The owner Hamila and her son were amazing and I would recommend anyone to stay with them at this beautiful hotel.
The rooms are large, Netflix on TV, swimming pool, free snorkel gear, located by the shops and restaurants.
This really is a great local island, with amazing people.
The sunbeds at the pool could do with an update but it’s no big issue

Si il m’était possible de mettre un note de 20 je le ferai ! l'accueil ,la bienveillance,l 'intérêt que porte Gimini le responsable à ses hôtes est exceptionnel.Tout est parfait dans cet hôtel ,il y règne une atmosphère familiale comme j'en ai rencontré peu à travers le monde .Gimini s'adapte a vous pour la demi pension qu'il s’agisse du déjeuner ou du diner .Il a même concocté pendant le séjour une recette de tomates farcies pour nous faire plaisir ,la cuisine est saine et savoureuse.Le jeune homme qui l'aide en cuisine et pour la bagagerie est egalement parfait .La piscine est un attrait pour le Perla car elle permet de vous délasser après une journée de plage ce qui n'est pas le cas partout ailleurs dans l'ile .Pour ce qui est de la plage ,elle est très propre et bien entretenue .Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés ,vous y passerez un merveilleux séjour .Encore merci Gemini pour votre merveilleux accueil ainsi que la Dame qui vous a segondé durant notre séjour .

Very hospitable!! All the staff were the kindest, friendly, welcoming people. They were all so very helpful. They ensured a smooth transfer from the airport to the island meeting us as soon as we got off of the boat to take us to the hotel and also helped take us back to the boat on departure. Food was also delicious and always served with a smile and greeted with a friendly welcome! We also did a turtle snorkelling trip which was amazing. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Thank you for the best stay at Perla we were very sad to leave!
