This was our 3rd stay at Novotel Lakeside Queenstown and we enjoy the location of the hotel and staff are always friendly, with rooms neat and comfortable.
It was disappointing that there is no monitoring or control of noise levels within the accommodation areas, the only negative for our stay was the noise created by children being allowed to play and run up and down the hallway with no supervision of their parents as well as people who think it is acceptable to arrive back at the hotel at late hours talking and laughing loudly in the hallways waking us and other guests who were asleep. This occurred during our last stay at the Novotel, however we thought it may have been a one off and therefore booked again for this trip. It appears that this may be the norm? Maybe the hotel can put up reminders for people to be mindful of noise and children are to remain with parents and not play in the hallways of the accommodation areas.

Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet, nur waren die Matratzen leider durchgelegen. Auf Anfrage an der Rezeption, ob diese gewechselt werden könnten, wurde mir gesagt, dass das wahrscheinlich nicht möglich ist, und sie wurden auch nicht ausgetauscht. Leider war auch der Whirlpool wegen des Winters geschlossen. Macht eigentlich keinen Sinn, weil ich im Sommer, wenn es warm ist, ja keinen heißen Whirlpool brauche, sondern im Winter nach dem Skifahren.
Frühsück und Pesonla waren aber lecker und super ferundlich.
Die Matratzen und dass der Whirlpool im Winter auch offen ist.

Our room was tiny and very run down. 3 different strips of carpet in the room, a huge discoloured crack in the bathroom sink and the bath (shower base) was marked with what looked like a previous long term sticky shower mat. If you have a car, I would recommend booking parking in advance as it was booked out. The free street parking that the staff suggested was jam packed and we were unable to find a spot, so we had to pay $7 an hour in-front of the hotel.

WE paid for an upgrade, but our friends' normal room was bigger had a better view and better bathroom WTF?? Also, the spa was out of order.
The bed was comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly. The location was central and handy to get to and from restaurants of an evening.
The shower was not clean. The grout between the tiles had built up soap scum that was easily removed with a bit of friction and a cloth. The shower was small and uncomfortable to stand in (shower over bath). The added parking cost of $50 a day is expensive. The spa was out of order and this was not communicated to us at check in or prior. The spa was one of the main reasons I booked this particular hotel.
the room was much smaller than i anticipated. photos online were deceiving.
The location couldn’t have been better and the valet parking was great although comes at an additional cost.
The room was quite old and run down and the fabric shower curtain was a bit gross and smelly. It’s was also a bit noisy, you could hear doors slamming and people from other rooms.
I would like bottled water provided in the room
