The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and the location was ideal.

Some impressions:
The lobby lounge was cold and draughty and not very comfortable.
The weather was bad while I was in Wellington and although my room was comfortable it would have been so much better if there had been a cosy and welcoming lounge, with comfortable chairs, to sit and read my book/have a tea or coffee/glass of wine etc.
The lobby lounge and restaurant appears more like a cafeteria.
The restaurant menu was good but very limited in choice.

Location great. Bed and pillow comfort lovely, always have a good night sleep here. Pool great. We usually love the breakfast buffet, as there is awesome variety but there was only 20mins left of service when we arrived and didn't want to be rushing so we went elsewhere.

Cons:

Disappointing in a lot of ways for a 5star hotel. We had dinner in the restaurant a "large plate" as per the menu for the lamb rack - you would expect more than 2 cutlets for the price, the vanilla creameaux didn't have a vanilla flavour at all. Single ply loo paper :-(. An improved skill level for hospitality customer service would also be good - it's the little things that make a big difference that were missing.. like getting a knife and butter with a scone that wasn't warmed up or offered... as I said it's little things, and I don't want to be picky but when you are paying top dollar for accommodation and service you expect a bit more.
