Clean and comfortable bed after 24 hrs of international travel. Shower felt great. I would recommend the Hotel Rose and I will stay here again if the need arises again. It would have been nice if coffee or tea was offered in the morning instead of having to purchase overpriced drinks next door.
So many historic buildings have been gutting and modernized but not Hotel La Rose. It’s in beautiful condition and feels like you’re stepping back in time to 1907. I stayed in room 44, the Frank Doyle Room who is very much worth looking up and learning about. Beautiful antique furniture, a massive and extremely comfortable bed, and one the coolest toilet I’ve ever used. The staff was kind and helpful, the room was clean, there were walkable food options, and it was just a cool experience staying in such a historic hotel. Way more interesting than the other options in town. If I’m ever in Santa Rosa again, I’ll stay here.
This is my home away from home. Its beautiful and has lots of atmosphere, and most important! Great housekeeping.
Stay was lovely in the main hotel, love the antique style rooms. Bed was a little soft and caused back issues. A little noise from the city but it was nice to have a view of the railroad area. Train noise wasn't too loud. Room got warm easily, nice windows to let in fresh air.
Grossmans "room service" was not room service, it was takeout. Advertised that it would be delivered to our room if we included room number. We thought we might get real utensils as well. They called to have us go down to the restaurant to pick up and gave plastic cutlery, which is fine, but we would have just ate downstairs if it wasn't true room service. Tipping 20% on a takeout order was a waste in this case.
I recently booked two nights here through a third party site via Google maps. At the last minute before booking I swear the 3rd party site (super.com) switched the booking dates on me. I didn't realize this until I arrived to check in and found out the hard away that I was two days early for my reservation. Although this was technically a mistake on my end, to make matters worse the hotel was completely booked for the weekend I had initially planned for and this was a "non-refundable" booking.
With all these disasters unfolding, the front office manager, Pablo Alfonso, went above and beyond to get everything sorted out for us! He was incredibly reassuring and made sure we got a refund even though it was technically my fault for booking the wrong dates with a non-refundable booking. He was quick with his communication between myself and with the third party site who were very problematic. He made sure I got a refund and even checked in with me a couple days later to make sure everything got all sorted out. 5 stars just for service alone and hopefully my significant other and I will be back soon!
We had an unexpected snowstorm that derailed our plans and we had to cancel. Pablo was incredible! He went above and beyond, even contacting our booking service to get it cancelled. We couldn't be more grateful. Thank you!
Beautiful room, quiet, and clean...a bit of an eery, paranormal atmosphere, in a good way. Gorgeous decor.
Would definitely visit again and recommend.
I truly loved it, there were a few "negatives" but they were very minor.
Had to remove multiple (3-4) Asian Lady beetles from the room, after they crawled across the walls and ceiling.
Water pressure was either pounding you or weak, not awful, but not desirable either.
Was a bit disappointed it wasn't a canopy style bed as pictured in the advertisement photos for this specific type of room, but it was still comfortable and cute.
Checked in to Hotel La Rose and decided I wanted a different location room. Pablo was extremely helpful and very friendly at check in! I also appreciated Thomas showing me a couple of different locations to switch to. He was so nice and courteous! Found the perfect location and the room is so nice and clean! Highly recommend!
The La Rose hotel is elegant and charming. The furniture is real wood. The duvet cover is 100% cotton. Marble countertops in the bathroom. Quite beautiful, not the generic plastic stuff you find in most hotels. Likewise, the lobby and hallways were graceful and charming. The front desk people were very helpful. I would enthusiastically recommend, and would happily stay again next time I am in Santa Rosa.
This place is very charming, super clean, and extremely comfortable. There are several really good restaurants on the same block. Highly recommended
The location was perfect. We were able to walk to all our destinations.
I had no important complaints.
The shower head needs updating, but it was working.
Classic historic hotel with cosy old fashioned touches. Like a step back in time to a calmer world, like old time San Francisco. My room had a tub! Café across street opens at 6am, attached restaurant has Brunch starting at 8am. Fun neighborhood for walking around. Generous loading zone for luggage, easy safe parking across street for $15 a night.
The hand soap was just meh (but the bath soap was quite good).
Great historic hotel on a hip and happening block, shop, eat, drink. Generous loading zone for check-in, then parking $15 in paid lot. Coffee and breakfast opens at 6am across the street or brunch at 8am in restaurant. Will return.
