It was fun! Will likely be staying again in the future.
Pros:

Always nice to have a free breakfast, especially in a Historic location like this one. The room was fine, lots of pillows which we appreciated.

Cons:

Little bit of a bummer to see the room's Historic interior remodeled with modern design. Was also annoyed by the fact I had to set up the room's cable. Spent an hour trouble shooting their cable system.

Like stepping into history.
Pros:

This hotel is an amazing piece of history! Beautiful building made out of old growth redwood with a historic group of visitors; from celebrities to heads of state.

Cons:

The restaurant was closed, and I heard it used to be an amazing steakhouse.

If you hve lots of luggage, avoid.
Pros:

Not much. Lobby was interesting. Breakfast was ok.

Cons:

Layout made it extremely difficult to get bags from car to the room. Parking near the hotel entrance was limited and had to go up several stairs with the bags (handicap entrance with ramp was locked). Long walk to front desk. Only one luggage cart and it was being used by another guest. Another long walk to room, again without luggage cart. Room small compared to most hotels.

Pros:

The history of the place….

Cons:

I didn’t like the fact only one window opened in the room. The window didn’t have a screen; but created a nice breeze.
Also no air conditioning or fan in the room
