The hotel is clean, quiet, and convenient to the surrounded Santa Fe Plaza.
The front entrance to the hotel has a nice outside porch area for having a drink in the evening or coffee in the morning.
The hotel staff and especially the front desk receptions are extremely welcoming and helpful when navigating the area.
All good, no exceptions.
We love staying here! This trip was to celebrate my husband's 75th birthday, and everything was perfect! The front desk staff were wonderful, and Sarah and Gabe surprised us with a bottle of bubbly to start the celebration off as soon as we checked in! We love spending time on the patio and enjoying coffee or an evening cocktail in the beautiful lobby.
My wife and I, along with our small dog, had a very nice visit last week. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming to us, especially Gabriel who went out of his way to orient us with the city and sights to see, greet us every time we came into the lobby by name (yes, dog too), asked us how our explorations were going, and checked in on our satisfaction with the accommodations. He even called restaurants to check on dietary restrictions and pet policies on his own volition without being asked. Lastly, one of the unspoken gems for us was the proximity of a high end lounge in the lobby where you could take the drinks and sit out front of the hotel at your leisure and people watch. There was no rush to continue to buy drinks in order to sit there. You could relax and talk at your own pace knowing high quality drinks were just a few steps away when you wanted them. It was delightfully refreshing to find there are still places that express their gratitude and hospitality to guests, reclaiming something from the not to distant past. We will stay again next time in Santa Fe.
The excellent knowledge and service of the hotel in the history behind it, the magnificent tasting cocktails, and concoctions of the bartenders that made such specialty drinks for their guest the appetizers, the food, the ambience, sitting outside, enjoying the moonlight in the breeze
There’s not one thing that I did not like about the property
Great staff and perfect accommodations. Front desk always on point and very helpful. Rooms very comfortable especially the cardinal suite. The secret lounge is great with their old fashioned style. Perfectly located in walking distance to restaurants galleries and shopping. Great value for a weekend with the family. Very clean property. Always enjoy our stays there. Stephen is very helpful and great as all the staff!!
Location
Spartan and small room fit for st Francis. Or other monks
Location, staff
No air conditioning, under construction,
No breakfast that I knew of.
The ac wasn’t working due to construction. Had to have windows open to cool room and it was noisy at night and early am.
I think we should have been notified of the ac problem prior to our stay as it was not a sudden issue. We probably would have chose a different hotel.
The hotel is a beautiful property & perfectly located. We didn't use our car at all after we arrived because we could walk everywhere. The staff was extremely friendly & accommodating. We've stayed there before & will stay there again.
The location is wonderful and the front entrance and lobby area are welcoming and very serene. The rooms are small but clean. The beds are small and somewhat comfortable however the pillows were hard and uncomfortable. The rooms were HOT. The air conditioning was not working at the hotel so guests had to open their windows. The problem there was the noise from outside with the loud cars and drunks leaving the local bars until 2:30am. It was so bad that we heard a customer of 20 years yelling at the front desk the next morning saying they lost a customer because the hotel offers no solutions. We stayed another night and moved rooms to the quiet side but the room was still way too hot and rhe sheets weren’t even comfortable. Our stay was a massive disappointment.
Location is great. One block away from the Santa Fe Plaza, 15-20 minute walk to The Rail yard trains.
The air conditioner was not working in the entire building, construction, no breakfast, no in-room service.
Beautiful characterful hotel with helpful reception staff. Very central. Parking next to hotel (for a fee). Safe in room. Breakfast coffee and snacks available in lobby. Bar with seats outside.
The air conditioning is old and inefficient. It was very hot. A $30 amenity fee is added in addition to the relatively expensive room rate. The room was small (a function of the old building) but characterful. Ned side lights did not work. No fridge in room. 3 star, not 4.
Excellent location!
Lots of outside noise late Saturday night. No AC during renovation so windows are open. Sound machine helped.

Coffee in lobby
The history
Room was sooo tiny, one small wooed chair. Light to bathroom , was on the wall outside bathroom. Had to get out of bathroom to turn light on. Bed was way too soft. Backache.
