Great location. Walking distance to every key attraction.
Beds were a little hard and hurt my back after 2 nights
The hotel itself was great. Room was mostly clean. Location wise being on the riverwalk was amazing and proximity to everything was good. Atmosphere was good overall. Value in the stay was there until the last morning. The hotel claims to have 24-hour valet service so we assumed that we could wake up and text the valet to get our car. But when we went to check out the text from the valet still wasn’t received so we asked the front desk and she said you had to call down if you wanted to leave before 6. This was all just a very negative experience for the end of the trip. (It also didn’t state anywhere that the valet opened at 6)
We made a reservation though TripAdvisor. We had a confirmation number. Flew into Savannah and got to the hotel at 10:30. They said we did not have a reservation as this was a third party reservation. They did not help us in the least. Just said we couldn’t help you and basically said you can not stay here. The woman behind the desk was useless, rude, and just not a good person. She should have no job in customer service. We ended up lugging our baggage through the streets of Savannah at 11:00 at night trying to find a hotel room. Luckily at our 3rd try to find a room we ended up at the Kimpton Brice Hotel which ended up being a very nice place and accommodating to our situation. Can’t say enough good things about Markeesha behind the desk there. She was kind, helpful, and super nice. We will never ever recommend staying at The River Street Inn. I assume they didn’t want to take a third party reservation and never honored ours because they could sell the room for more money than what we were paying.
There is only limited valet service. Be prepared to find your own parking. The beds are uncomfortable. The shower did not work as well as we hoped. We were haply to get hime and get a good nights sleep and a good shower. The location for a trip is great!
Everything was so perfect that it's difficult to choose one standout. The staff, however, they truly made the experience better than we could have expected. So kind, very informative, very friendly. We came back and told everyone how spectacular they were.
The only thing that caused a bit of an issue was the Wi-Fi.
We had better service when we turned the Wi-Fi option off on our phones and computers.
Location and views were excellent. Easy to navigate around the city. Boardwalk was also nice.
Everything, I can’t say enough good things. 5 Star
Nothing. The whole experience was amazing.
It is close to everything on River Street and the historical district
The room felt crowded with furniture.
I had an overnight in Savannah and I wanted to be near the historic district. I had a room with a river view and I really enjoyed it. The room had hard wood floors with an area rug. I was really impressed with how clean it was. People were super friendly and the bar made an awesome margarita.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat. If you are ever in Savannah, you should too!
My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at the River Street Inn. This was our first time in Savannah and we chose the perfect hotel! It is beautiful and historic. We stayed during St. Patrick's Day week while celebrating our anniversary. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. In our room, we were surprised with a special gift for our anniversary. Also, we had asked for a riverfront room that had the best views with a balcony and they provided it! We were amazed at the huge cargo ships that travel the river each day. They aren't loud, sometimes you don't realize it until they're right there. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. We arrived the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day. River Street was packed, as we expected for the huge celebration they have every year for St. Patrick's Day. We watched the St. Patrick's Day parade that traveled in front of the hotel. The Manager's Reception was awesome every day with free food and drinks for River Street Inn's guests. There are hop on/hop off trolley stops all around the hotel. We rode the trolleys, did a riverboat cruise, and toured a huge cemetery on golf carts. River Street Inn is in the middle of everything. You can walk to most places. We loved that. Because of all the people with St. Patrick's Day, the valet was full the day we arrived so we parked in a parking garage. It was only a few blocks away. We parked our car there and left it all week until we left. We had no issues. River Street Inn has three restaurants, Bootleggers, Huey's, and Broken Keel. All had great food and drinks. There is a free water ferry that takes you from River Street across the way to Hutchinson Island where the Savannah Convention Center is. The water ferry goes back and forth all day. The hotel's lobby has coffee in the morning and non-alcoholic refreshments in the afternoon/evening. You can walk to the Waving Girl Statue from the hotel. Even though we didn't park at the hotel, the day we were leaving, the valet were very helpful, allowing us to park our car there in the front while we got our things together. They were also very helpful with our bags and getting them into our car. Chris and Aaliyah knew we had a long trip home and got us some waters for our trip. We really appreciated their help and welcoming spirit! We can't wait to get back to the River Street Inn!
Location
My friend and I stayed here for our first visit to Savannah. The River Street Inn was as beautiful in-person as it was in the photos on their website. Absolutely charming historic building, right on the waterfront near shops and restaurants. Everything within walking distance. The accommodations were very nice, exceptionally clean and inviting. The front-desk staff (and any staff we bumped into in the hallways or restaurant) were very friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was that we originally booked a "city view" room. The view was perfectly fine, but we had some difficulty with the noise from the road that runs along the front of the building. When inquiring about switching to a river view room for the rest of our stay, it was only a small difference in price, and the staff was very helpful and happy to accommodate a room change. I just can't say enough. I would recommend this place to anyone who prefers a more cozy and charming place to stay at a reasonable price, vs staying in a chain-type hotel.
The location was very central. There is a decent amount of street noise, to be expected. Happy hour was the highlight of our stay, thanks Brad! Not much insulation between rooms. We could hear someone sneeze next door. Disgusting mess found on the sheets upon arrival. Shocking.
We were welcomed with such Southern Hospitality. The facility is gorgeous and just minutes from great shopping. We received vouchers for the local restaurants which my daughter and I took advantage of. Such an historical feel in Savannah.
This is a beautiful historic hotel. The rooms are exceptional. The location is great. The staff is above and beyond
Apenas a localização
The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We had never visited but will definitely be back. The hotel offers a number of amenities and it is within walking distance to all the sights. A beautiful place to stay. Highly recommend.
Stayed here at River St. Inn February 20 -22. This is the most beautiful historical Inn. And this was an extra special trip for very sad reasons. When we checked in, it was a amazing experience. Cassandra and her team were the best. When we told Cassandra the reason behind the trip, she was sooo sweet and went above and beyond to add some extra sweet to our stay. There are 3 restaurants attached to the Inn and Jon Michael and Chris were terrific. I can't wait to line up another stay. Cassandra's name is not on the building for nothing. Thank you again Cassandra.
