We love this place , mostly because of the employees!
Pros:

John Michael, Chris, and Micah gave us the absolute best valet service. They were so helpful and knew what we needed before we did. They were friendly and didn't judge our crazy car packing job.
The front desk staff was also terrific! Personable and helpful; gave good hints for visiting Savanah.
Our room was so much more than expected! Really clean and decorated to fit the hotel's origins. We will never stay anywhere else.
Splurge for the balcony; you'll.be happy
It's not big, but its fun to look over the riverfront and street.

Pros:

A very well-located and beautiful hotel. It is a bit noisy since it’s not well insulated due to the type of building it is, but if that’s not a problem for you, I definitely recommend staying there.
Very nice and very clean.

My room needed a refresher. Carpeting was dirty & ripped. Room needs a bench or larger nightstands to put things. Had to lay open luggage on floor. Could’ve used more info at check in.

Historic Inn on the River
Pros:

River Street Inn is a beautifully decorated and maintained historic Inn directly overlooking Savannah River. Access to on-site & adjacent restaurants on lively River St. Shopping, nightlife, tours nearby. Our family enjoyed 2 River view rooms in 400 wing. ADA Rm 421 had a huge bathroom & perfectly placed for convenience. Staff is gracious. Evening reception is well done.

Pros:

Absolutely wonderful, we were in room 537, we will request this room on our return visit.
Cassandra at the front desk was an absolute jewel, she was so personable , professional, friendly, helpful, always pleasant ….,this added to our wonderful experience.

Pros:

This place was absolutely fantastic. The staff was amazingly helpful and kind. There was a happy hour with free snacks and alcohol provided daily. Our king room with a balcony on the river was beautiful. I requested 4 extra pillows and they were provided promptly. I have zero complaints. If you want to sleep in during the mornings, I might not recommend staying on the river side as you do hear everything going on outside and it is an active river front.

Cons:

If you don't like noise in the morning, the river view rooms may not be for you.

Great Valet Parking!!
Pros:

Room was clean, quiet. I would love to give a shout out to the Valets Jon-Michael and Lamont. They really seem to love their jobs which make a difference. Picking my car up from a smiling face starts the day off on a great footing!

beautiful old hotel, room needs a deep clean
Pros:

the hotel is beautiful. It’s in a great location right on the Savannah River. It is close to everything. I just think the room we had was not that clean. It needs a deep cleaning. the shower had mold or mildew. there was a lot of dust on the bathroom door. and like just in general. I didn’t realize until the morning that the sheets had stains under the pillows. that was alittle concerning. so really my only problem was our room not being so clean.

Great hotel in a beautiful location!
Pros:

This hotel is amazing! The reservation desk agent Cassandra was extremely helpful with a reservation that was wrongly booked on my end. She was very sweet and went above and beyond to help fix it! I will be visiting again this hotel again.

Wonderful Stay
Pros:

The River Inn is in a great location,wakable to many key sites. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The inn has a unique layout with a lot of character. We loved our room - great size and comfortable beds. The amenities and discount at the M Cafe next door were wonderful bonuses. I'd definitely stay here again!

very nice location, lots of things to do on the property. Several restaurants and bars, rooms are large for Savannah just wish they did a better job with cleaning. Floors were sticky everywhere in the hotel, doors and walls had heavy grease smudge marks all over them. This property could easily be a 5-star resort style hotel if just managed a little better.

Best Hotel Ever!
Pros:

We traveled by train so arrived at 4:30 am - no problem. Our return train time was 1:40 am, but they gave us a key card to use the whole day so we’d have somewhere to go and keep our luggage. Manager’s special was 4-5:30 every day (free food and drinks) and they give $40 in food vouchers - nice extras. Bradly the bartender does a great job! Everybody was so pleasant and helpful. Great room (437) with a balcony and view (worth it!). We didn’t want to leave!
