I recently stayed at Hyatt Place Fair Lawn Paramus and overall had a really positive experience.
The hotel itself is very clean, modern, and well-maintained. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet, making it easy to relax after a long day. The staff were consistently friendly and professional, always willing to help and making the stay feel smooth and welcoming. The overall service and atmosphere reflect strong management and attention to guest comfort.
The only area that could be improved is the breakfast. While it is convenient and included, the selection is fairly basic and could offer more variety and fresher options. It gets the job done, but it doesn’t stand out compared to the rest of the hotel experience.
Overall, I would still highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, comfort, and excellent staff, and I would definitely stay again.
This was a Mother day gift for me. A time to relax and enjoy peace and quiet. But unfortunately i was dissapointed in how it turned out. First thing is after we booked the room we got a message that the pool would be closed for renovations. I understood and ended up not taking a bathing suit. Once I got there I find out the pool was in fact open so that was 1. Front desk was fairly nice. But getting to elevator was an experience. The elevator just told me alot about the conditions of the hotel. Old and unkept! Once i stepped off elevator i thought i was in a haunted hallways. It was sooo dark! And me as a young woman staying alone, i couldnt get in my room fast enough. Once in the room i felt safer. Until i saw the HUMONGOUS stain on my couch. Sooo sitting on my couch was out of the question. Went to lay in bed and watch a movie. Tv wasnt working. Wouldnt allow me to look at the channel guide. I get alot of hotels dont have smart tvs but at least make sure the cable tv is working as well! I had 8 channels and the rest was static. Walking around my room saw many holes around and aftwr that i just stopped looking. I was so dissapointed that my 1 free day of the year had to turn out this way.
This hotel was very outdated and boarder line dirty. There was a large dead bug by the bed, stains on the couch, shower did not drain properly, and beds were lumpy and small.
I am a Hyatt Member. No one greeted or even acknowledged us when we arrived. I specifically requested a high floor and was given a room on the first floor. ((Check out the view from our room in the pictures below!!)) Hotel room was renovated poorly. Hardwood on the floors, but carpet trim? Closet door doesn’t even open enough to take provided blanket out! The main reason I booked with Hyatt this time was for the pool…. pool was closed with no date of opening. Breakfast was messy and felt cheap… paper plates? Food and trash all over the countertops and floors? Embarrassing Hyatt. We couldn’t wait to check out. I am highly disappointed with our stay. Would not recommend.
Room was dusty. Breakfast was good. We were put by the elevator so it was a bit noisy. AC was a but noisy. Front desk was polite.
We have a group with numerous rooms in this hotel right now unfortunately there is a family living in room 414 with multiple dogs that bark all night long the hotel has refused to take care of the situation and because we have so many rooms are unable to move us away so that our group does not hear the barking dogs. They gave us the phone number for the nonemergency police line because of the family disturbing the peace, but the police will not come and take care of it unless the hotel calls them to help eject them. This hotel is a disaster. No one is sleeping and no one is doing anything about the dogs. Do not stay here.
Location is right next to the highway so it can be noisy. The hotel room has worn and tears; but the staff is helpful and would make effort to improve your experience. For example, the shower head in our room was terribly deteriorated, because it past the work hours, the concierge staff shown us another room, unfortunately with another horrible shower head. We were promised sending a handyman to fix it in our room. The handyman gives us a good one the next day.
It has an indoor pool, which sounds like a haven in mid-Spring. I made my reservation in late-March but the hotel web site didn't mention the closing pool. I was so looking forward to have a good swim, but it was unavailable upon our arrival and we were told that it has been closed since September, which was 6 months ago. I wish the hotel would post an update on its amenity status like the swimming pool is unavailable.
Nice hotel for a stay to visit friends. I was in a room on the back side (facing woods), so it was quiet. The room was clean. The front desk staff were friendly. The gym has a peloton bike (with standard delta clips for peloton shoes - no sneaker cage).
Stay was nice, hotelroom was clean and good. A bit dark inside. Breakfast was a bit greasy and sugary.
Main issue is that I needed an invoice which I specified beforehand. After checkout, they told me this was going to be sent to my email address. Never received it! I tried to get in touch with them multiple times, through different channels, but it seems to be impossible! The online service I used only generated a bill with local expenses.
The pool was closed which was extremely disappointing. We booked through expedia and they refused to authorize a refund because buried in the fine print it said that the pool was closed. 5 other places in the listing said the pool is open.
Acceptable place to stay. Breakfast was good and I was able to access the gym when needed. The room was fair and clean. The mattress had a dip and the bathroom door was entirely too close to the toilet.
It is not a bad hotel but the rooms are tired, the staff is not too accomidating and you get the feeling they want to get you in and out. Office chair in room was broken and towels were cheap and small.
Not dirty, but just an old tired hotel and the staff acts the same ay. Bar is just barely functional
The room could have been a little cleaner, but overall, it was satisfactory.
The bathroom walls had dust and hair on them. Spare blankets also had hair in them. I suggest a bottle of water and a new refrigerator. Mine never seemed to get cold. Also tried the yogurt first morning we checked in, and it was sour and tasted old.
The pool was broken. The elevator was broken. The outside smelled like a septic system. The hotel was noisy. Bathroom was so small - the door hit the toilet when opening and there was no room to to stand when closing the door. Also the maid entered my room even with the do not disturb sign up.
I booked a king size bed. Zupon check in? I was told only queen size beds were available. I continued with the booking and when arriving to the room, I was met with FULL SIZE BEDS. They then offered me 4000 in Hyatt points, that was supposed to be visible within 24. Hours and I still haven’t received. I called back 2 days later and was out on hold twice and never attended. The staff member that helped me name was Musti. Unacceptable.
The bed in my room was not very comfortable and seemed smaller than a standard queen. There was also drilling noise in the hallway one morning, which sounded like construction or repair work and was quite disruptive. In addition, the bathroom door made a loud squeaky noise when opening and closing. I was staying for a total of 3 nights, so these issues affected the comfort of my stay. I would like to request reasonable compensation or a partial refund for the inconvenience and overall experience.
For starters, the hotel had a terrible odor throughout the lobby and hallways. (mixture of bowling alley and Marijuana). Additionally, we had reserved a king bed room but were told upon check -in that no king rooms were available, and were placed in a double room instead. The beds were quite narrow, and weren't spacious enough to be comfortable. Also, the room mirror light did not turn on.
Upon contacting customer service to complain, I was told that the smell came from outside and there's nothing the staff could do about it. Regarding the lack of room availability, I was informed that the staff had supposedly offered the double room as an 'upgrade' and that I had agreed to it. Well, what was I supposed to do exactly?!? They told me the room I had reserved wasn't available. It was late at night, I wasn't exactly running around to find a different hotel! A double room is certainly no upgrade from a King room. In short, I was extremely disappointed with the experience.
No other hotel in immediate area, so we are stuck with this choice. We had a handicapped room with a tub. A walk in shower would have been much easier and safer.
everything was OK, the bathroom light made it terrible loud rattling noise, but I never even requested repair we were only there for a few days
We have stayed here for years for holidays and visits to family. They do a wonderful job and the hotel is excellent. It is also a great place to stay if you are going to go into New York City for the day. We take the local bus and yes, it takes an hour to use the bus, but it is part of the fun of people watching or reading my kindle while I am riding. It saves a great deal of stress!
