The Red Lion Hotel

You can't control the heating in the room, it's controlled centrally and was extremely hot. The hotel rooms are two floors up and there's no lift, and the sound proofing was very poor in a very busy street, could hear people talking and all the traffic at all times. Maid didn't clean the room the first day, despite leaving the tag to clean up the room and there's no receptionist, or contact and this morning, at 7 am, I could not get back into the hotel as the key stopped working.

The side door to get into the hotel would get jammed by the dead bolt.
It was confusing how to check in, and very busy at the bar, so with coats and bags even 10 mins felt a while to check in.

Room was a bit hot, having had the day’s sun on the window all day… but I’m splitting hairs.

The windows could not be opened that much and since the floor was carpeted I would have preferred to let more air circulate

Rhe noise. i checked before I booked, nothing on, on a Wednesday night,i was wrong and I felt as if i was going crazy. I learnt they hadn't mentioned salsa class in the ballroom below my room , finished just after 11, but ruined my stay unfortunately

Noise from private function downstairs on Saturday night (ended at 1am). Fire alarm going off multiple times during the night - told by staff this was caused by somebody setting it off during the party

Would be good if breakfast was offered.
