Hyatt Place Detroit/Livonia

The hotel staff were friendly, but that's where it stops. The place has a smell, it's run down, and poor upkeep. My bathroom had black mold in the shower and I found two spiders in my bed at different times.

Even though she could not see the site I inquired about for the price match for the call center rep advised me to book the room and send the documentation and then I would receive the price match and then they decline to match the price saying "they do not match that site" so why tell me to book? When I arrived at the hotel they did not have enough room s for my entire family so the front desk agent agreed to cancel w/o penalty because they did not have enough rooms to accommodate my entire family and when I checked the site to verify everything was taken care of it showed that I had checked into the hotel .. I called the desk clerk agreed to go check the room to verify no was there and no key was issued. I was so upset because all I could think was fraud. Even they know I was never there they giving me hell about giving me a refund.

I love this hotel! It is my home away from home when I am visiting family in Royal Oak. Nice breakfast, good lobby layout, unbeatable location. They need to add room safes and up the hot water in Room 629 the corner suite. One has to run the shower for 5 minutes to get hot vs. warm water. I shared that feedback last time I stayed here and it appears they are still working on it.

Undoubtedly the worst Hyatt we have ever stayed in.
This hotel is not well maintained at all. Dirty carpets, cereal in the elevator, water on tile floors in the lobby, probably from the pool area.
We had a major issue in our room on the 3rd night of our 4 night stay. Our toilet overflowed and was unusable. We notified the front desk on our way out to dinner at 5pm. We called the hotel at 8 pm to verify that it had been fixed and was told it had been fixed. We got back to the hotel at 9:30 went up to the room flushed the toilet and now the water was running out of the bathroom and on to the carpet. It was apparent that no one had been in the room since there was still water on the floor. We went back to the front desk and spoke to the person in charge. She said there was no one to fix the toilet. . that maintenance people had gone home for the night.
She then asked us if we would like to change rooms (!!!). That took an hour. Avoid at all costs!

Our stay was very wonderful 😊 We loved it there We had an unexpected 2 night stay and they extended it happily. We came in from Cincinnati and Terry kept our room on hold untill 2 am Ruffus also gave excellent service too We really loved it here

Dog friendly, many areas close by for dogs to go potty. Decent price.

Cleanliness, room setup, the staff were nice

I liked that the front desk employee Refina greeted me with a smile. She was very polite and professional and she allowed me to cancel my reservations.

The room itself was fine but there was only one person on staff and they had to work the front desk. The TV did not work properly and there was no way to change the output. When I called down to ask about this the front desk person had no idea how to fix it. They were helpful as they tried to contact the manager but the manager told them that they couldn't get a hold of the maintenance person and that was it. It was really disappointing. Also, the breakfast was just not good. We ended up going somewhere else for breakfast. It was a disappointing stay overall

This is a worn out Hyatt Place property. The staff were friendly/professional, but that was the only high point of our 3 night stay! Hyatt Place breakfast is not what it used to be to be - watery powered eggs and everything served on foam plates with plastic utensils. We’ll stay somewhere else next time we’re in the area. My understanding is this location is under new ownership so hopefully things will improve in the next 12-18 months!

The sheets were dirty, had dry blood and pee stains. Front desk had to be reminded twice, but the house cleaning took it more serious.
