Breakfast was very bad
I wanted to take a minute to extend accolades to Hyatt employee Rufus. Rufus was such a gem during our last stay at Hyatt Place, Livonia. He went above and beyond to make our stay the most comfortable he could. Thank you, Rufus, we will definitely be back to stay because of you!
I’d also like to give a shout out to employee Ashley who proved outstanding Customer Service.
We appreciate your Hotel staff. It felt like we were at The Four Seasons. Thank you all!
The staff were nice
The pool was unkept and filled with bugs. I also had severe food poisoning after eating the breakfast.
The proximity to places
This is a run down property, the infrastructure was good from outside but from inside they need to do a better job, the chairs and places to sit had bad stains, stuff needs a new polish and needs to be changed. The bathroom was clean looking but looked like not done properly upon further checking as it had swimsuit liner on the floor, dress tags on the carpet…perhaps not vacuumed properly. So that pretty much tells the upkeep of this place is not per Hyatt’s level! They even had a broken waffle machine that must have been broken for sometime so we practically ate nothing there or breakfast.
The room size was great!
The bathroom door hits the toilet when you open it and the toilet seat didn't close all the way. The pillows were not the best either.
The location
It wasn’t very clean wasn’t any microwaves in the rooms
I booked this property expecting the consistency and reliability typically associated with the Hyatt Place brand. Instead, what I encountered was a tired, underperforming hotel that falls well short of brand standards.
No acknowledgment of Globalist status, no offer of late checkout, and no proactive service touches that frequent Hyatt guests have come to expect. Even housekeeping was not offered on the second day of my stay, which is particularly notable for a top-tier loyalty member.
The physical condition of the hotel reflects its age. This is clearly an older suburban property that was converted into a Hyatt Place at some point. The last renovation appears to have been 10 years ago. Nearly everything feels worn and dated.
While my room appeared clean, the walk-in shower had visible black mold. Furniture was scuffed and scratched. Bedding was clean and the mattress was acceptable, but the pillows were inconsistent and subpar. Some appeared to be feather, others felt like cotton balls were stuffed into a pillowcase. In terms of in-room amenities only a bar of soap was provided. No lotion. I received one face cloth, three hand towels, and two bath/body towels in a room for two people.
Worse, the toilet wouldn't flush.
The Placery bar and restaurant — normally a core Hyatt Place feature — is closed. The pool is also closed. The small market near the front desk offers little more than soft drinks, with no meaningful grab-and-go food options. If you’re hungry, you’ll need to leave the property.
Breakfast was atrocious. The selection was minimal. The quality was poor. You would be better off going to a nearby McDonald's or Starbucks.
Taken together, this is not a property that meets reasonable expectations for the Hyatt Place brand, let alone for loyal Hyatt guests. Between the lack of amenities, poor maintenance, and absence of service standards, there is little reason to stay here.
If you need to be in this part of metro Detroit and prefer Hyatt, you are better off booking the Hyatt Place in Novi instead.
Bottom line: Avoid.
The room was clean, quiet, modern and in good repair. Check out at 12:00. The indoor pool was closed for both days due to foggy water. Staff were nice, bar was closed, breakfast was acceptable. Both shower gel bottles were empty. Exterior was nice. My biggest let down was the pool, if i knew the pool was closed I would have stayed elsewhere.
The price & location
We booked primarily for the pool. For our son's birthday. The pool area seemed a bit run down. The windows have water stains or something.
We wanted a tub in our king room. We got it in the other room we booked which was fine but the tub was dirty.
Location was near everything I needed. The front desk evening staff Saturday March 21, she was absolutely wonderful.
The pool was closed, I wasn’t made aware they were closing it after I had booked. The breakfast was cold and lacked flavor. The waffle station was not working the whole weekend. The fresh fruit was moldy. Some management staff wandering around seemed unhappy. The bathroom door hit the toilet when trying to close the door.
This hotel is not what o have come to expect when staying at Hyatt properties
The room was dirty upon arrival. Lots of crumbs by the bed, dusty, and a red sauce handprint on the wall.
The pull out couch did not have any sheets, I had to go down to the front desk to ask for some. There were holes in the mattress.
The shower curtain bar was mounted too high so the bottom of the curtain was above the base of the tub; water went everywhere. Shampoo bottle was empty.
They could not keep up with the amount of people wanting breakfast. Eventually they ran out of muffins/bread/bagels and fruit, the only option was cereal.
Everything was great .
Pool was closed and I had loud noises til 2am I requested a new room and was not compensated
My room experience, loud, bumping and property noise due to construction. I called out front desk several times they did nothing after I show them video of the loud noise at 1 AM. They did not compensate me for the inconvenience.
The staff were so nice and very helpful
The hotel was dishonest when it came to the amenities available. We got the hotel for the indoor pool only to discover after arriving it was shut down for maintenance. When I talked to the front desk, the said it was posted on their website. When showing the website, where no notice was posted, they refused to show me where said notice was on the website. The staff was rude and unprofessional. The room dirty as well, we went to another hotel.
