Location fabulous, great staff
No air con and room small
The staff where good but I now they are doing it up but the picture looks nothing like how it is
There was nothing wrong but the room had just been painted and you could still smell
I have just been for avternoon tea with a friend, it was an 'experience' in many ways. Looks nothing like the photos. I had read the reviews before hand but it was already booked so thought give it s go. Got there, no one on receptio , a mobile number to call whivh was invorrect as there was a number misdinb. Called main number just told by voice to call back later. No staff afounf so tried yo find the restaurant. Followed the signs but ended up back where we started. I am disabled and use a walking stick this place is not disabled friendly too many steps and uneven surfaces. We ended up being shown to the restaurant by one of the workmen working there he even helped me up the steps so thankyou Mr Workman. Luckily the afternoon tea was ok nothing special but better than anticipated from previous reviews. My friend being able bodied went to the toilet but said I would not manage the stairs. We specifically asked then if there was an accessible toilet and were told it was by reception. When we got there it was not an accessible toilet just a ladies room so I was unable to go. On the way out there was finally someone on reception, my friend mentioned the accessible toilet to be told she should have asked about it as they use one of the rooms for disabled for the toilet. She explained that was what she asked for. We got a garbled apology anf left. This hotel in my opinion is not at all disabled friendly, is very run down and is nothing like the photos on the website. I will be contacting Red Letter Days recommending they remove this from their list of experiences. Never again!
It was ideal for the wedding we attended and safe for children. Food was good and good value for money.
Stairs were all a bit steep and windey. We had a pram and it was difficult to get it up and down stairs
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Marston Farm Hotel and couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a lovely young lady on reception who was friendly, professional and made us feel at home straight away. Check-in was quick and easy, and she gave us all the information we needed.
Our family room for two adults and two children had recently been refurbished and was absolutely beautiful. It was modern, spotless, spacious and very comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. The attention to cleanliness throughout the hotel was exceptional.
Although there were decorating works taking place, the staff carrying out the work were incredibly courteous and respectful to guests. They worked quietly and professionally, and it never disrupted the peaceful atmosphere of the hotel.
The hotel itself is set in stunning grounds, with a beautiful central garden that is perfectly maintained and creates such a relaxing environment. We especially loved the canal just beyond the car park, which made for a lovely evening walk and added to the peaceful, tranquil setting. It really felt like the perfect place to unwind.
The restaurant was excellent value for money, with delicious food and generous portions. Breakfast was included and offered a great selection of tasty food to start the day. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Marston Farm Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, welcoming and beautiful place to stay. We will definitely be returning.
There wasn't much to dislike. The only negatives were that the car park and tennis court looked a little tired and didn't reflect how lovely the rest of the hotel is. The coffee at breakfast wasn't to my taste, but the food itself was very good. These were only minor issues and didn't spoil our stay.
Awful room, dirty and bare. The beds were old and the bathroom was so poor we only used the sink.
My room was cancelled and hour before arrival. I had to find alternative accomodation in a hurry.
We went for afternoon tea the food wasn’t great. The scones were that hard we struggled to cut them with a knife. We booked with buy a gift which stated it included a bottle of Prosecco to share. They gave us two small bottles. I asked to see the manager and she couldn’t be bothered to come and see us and sent another member of staff. 15 minutes later she walked through the restaurant!
The lady who served on reception and the bar.
Plenty of carparking.
Breakfast was excellent.
Hardly any staff. The hotel looks jaded and needs a revamp.
Nothing
Room was lovely, very comfy and newly refurbished. Very clean.
Shower pressure was non existent, we couldn’t shower, was more of a trickle. Also weren’t pre-warned about the wedding being hosted during our stay and the DJ’s mic was so loud it kept waking the baby but this did stop by around midnight.
Friendly staff location suited myself
Thought it needed updating but didn’t spoil my stay
When I saw in details of place , a four star hotel in farm , sounded like a nice quite place ,
There was loud music blasting even after midnight , very tiny rooms , stairs are dangerously, much less than a feet . Have to put foot sideways . Staff there were very rude , when I ask last night about music , even worse this morning , all I wanted to know , if there is cancellation ( I have cancellation information from booking . Com
I was given a £50 gift voucher for afternoon tea for two. What a disappointment Marston farm hotel was. Not even a full sandwich each. 1 quarter cheap thin ham. 1 quarter a very small amount of egg mayo. 1 quarter tuna mayo. Pork pie was cheap and no taste to it. Carrot cake was sawdust. Two scones that looked like they had been scrapped off the bottom of a very dirty oven. Definitely no where near £50 worth of food or surroundings.
Room was empty apart from me and my sister. No background music. No atmosphere. Old curtains all torn and ragged. Only one ladies loo and it was at the top of a very steep flight of stairs. Corridors with old carpet. Place needs a complete overhaul. Smelling very old and musty. The hotel is at the end of a long driveway with very poor signage.
If you’re thinking of going for afternoon tea don’t bother. Spend your money somewhere else
