Four Points by Sheraton Balikpapan

The breakfast was incredible and so was our vegetarian dinner. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. Pick up and drop off to the airport was super easy.
Just ONE HUGE ISSUE that needs URGENT attention. The dampness and mold issues in the passages and dining area. Notably the walls, ceilings and carpets. Our room was not too bad. This is a HUGE issue that needs to be fixed...not just covered with paint and new trims. I think the air conditioning was not properly insulated during installation and has been dripping water for ages, causing dampness and mold issues. This is a HEALTH RISK and needs your URGENT attention. This could be an amazing Hotel, if you can fix this huge problem.

Special for is that they noticed our daughter had her birthday few days before our stay and they brought her a cake with candle at breakfast, plus more than 10 of staff members were singing happy birthday. Memorable experience as much appreciated!

The Spa is very recommendable.

The pool has great potential but needs some work on the deck and could use more chairs / beach loungers for the atmosphere. So if that would be fixed, the total experience is 10 out of 10.

Overall i think this is one of the best hotel in Balikpapan. Staff are so welcoming and always give great treatment for their guests.

I booked a room for 3 people on Booking.com, when I booked it said Half board and 90 minute massage. When I called to confirm before arrival, the hotel said that they cannot give half board for 3 people and only for 2 people and 90 minute massage is not included. They asked me to cancel if I am not happy with it as they said it was wrongly written on Booking.com. Same was told to me by Booking.com cutomer service. So I have to cancel.

Really enjoyed my stay at Four Points. The room was clean, bed was super comfy, and staff made check-in quick. Breakfast was simple but good. Felt like a reliable, stress-free place to crash after work. Recommend if you just want things to work.

Overall, the service was quite satisfactory. The FO team handled Check In nicely and assisted me in preparing an early breakfast on June 14, 2026 because my flight was really early, however I'm sorry because I forget his name. The breakfast on June 13, 2026 was of decent quality, but it was not properly refilled. Several buffet menus were empty. Then the condiments were placed fairly far away. Buffer food was on the right, while condiments such sambal were placed on a station between the fruit and snack chillers and the omelette station (far left).
