Four Points by Sheraton Balikpapan

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was truly impressed by the exceptional level of service provided by the staff. From check-in to check-out, everyone was friendly, attentive, and always willing to assist with any request.

Really enjoyed my stay at Four Points. The room was clean, bed was super comfy, and staff made check-in quick. Breakfast was simple but good. Felt like a reliable, stress-free place to crash after work. Recommend if you just want things to work.

Overall, the service was quite satisfactory. The FO team handled Check In nicely and assisted me in preparing an early breakfast on June 14, 2026 because my flight was really early, however I'm sorry because I forget his name. The breakfast on June 13, 2026 was of decent quality, but it was not properly refilled. Several buffet menus were empty. Then the condiments were placed fairly far away. Buffer food was on the right, while condiments such sambal were placed on a station between the fruit and snack chillers and the omelette station (far left).

Excellent service, great facilities, delcious food, and a weel equipped gym facility. Thank you for the complimentary upgrade and warm hospitality :)

Staying at Four Points for business purposes is certainly my best decision, as a member of marriot bonvoy they provided best service such as airport shuttle and late checkout due to friday pray. Will definitely stay at four points again

I would like to share my feedback regarding my recent stay at Four Points by Sheraton Balikpapan.
First of all, I would like to mention that I have been choosing Four Points hotels during my travels since 2019. Over the years, I have always appreciated the brand and the level of hospitality it represents, which is why I feel it is important to provide honest feedback.
The room itself was pleasant, clean, and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and I was satisfied with the accommodation overall.
Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was a complete disappointment. There was no yogurt available, the food quality was very poor, the pastry selection was almost nonexistent, and what was available was simply not enjoyable. The pain au chocolat tasted old and seemed as if it had been frozen for a long time. The overall quality of the breakfast offering was far below what I would expect from a Marriott property.
The restaurant itself is also in a very poor state. The ceiling shows visible signs of mold, many tables are damaged along the edges, and several chairs appeared dirty. The entire dining area feels neglected and in need of serious renovation and attention.
I also could not understand why the curtains remained closed throughout breakfast service. Having breakfast with natural sunlight is one of the most enjoyable moments of the day, and keeping the restaurant dark creates a rather unwelcoming atmosphere.
In addition, I would like to mention the children's playground located inside the restaurant. In my opinion, it is completely out of place. During breakfast, the constant noise, shouting, and running of children significantly affected the atmosphere and made it difficult to enjoy what should be a relaxing start to the day.
I am sorry to say this, but if I return to Balikpapan in the future, I will have to seriously reconsider staying at your property again. The condition of the breakfast operation and restaurant falls far below the standards I would expect from a Four Points by Sheraton hotel and certainly below the standards I have experienced at other Four Points properties since 2019.
I hope this feedback is received in the constructive spirit in which it is intended and that meaningful improvements can be made for future guests.

Hotel staffs are very helpful and polite. The hotel is very near to the airport.

I had a wonderful 10-day stay at Four Points Balikpapan, and what truly stood out was the exceptional hospitality. From the moment I arrived, the warm welcome and genuine care from the team made me feel completely at home.

A special mention goes to Ika from the Food & Beverage team, who went above and beyond throughout my stay. She took the time to understand my dietary preferences and ensured that my breakfast was thoughtfully prepared every day to match my plan. Her daily follow-ups and attention to detail made a big difference and reflected a level of care that is truly exceptional.

The overall food experience was excellent, and everything felt personal and comforting. I would also like to thank Gita from Food & Beverage and Puput from reception (apologies if I misspelled the name), along with the rest of the staff, for their kindness and support.

I recently stayed at FP Hotel Balikpapan and had quite a mixed first impression—but it turned into a genuinely memorable experience.

The location is not the most strategic, even though it is relatively close to the airport. The building itself is also integrated with an apartment complex, which makes the overall appearance less appealing compared to a typical standalone hotel.
I also experienced an issue with my room, as it felt quite humid. However, what truly surprised me was how the hotel handled it—they immediately upgraded me to a Suite room, which was absolutely excellent and very comfortable. That really turned things around for me.

Breakfast was adequate, with a modest selection but good quality overall. Nothing overly fancy, but well-prepared and satisfying. The highlight for me was definitely the coffee—it was really enjoyable.

What truly sets this hotel apart is the hospitality. Credit to the entire team—from the concierge, front desk, duty manager, housekeeping, to the F&B team. They were genuinely warm, attentive, and responsive. It’s rare to experience this level of consistency across all departments. Truly special.

In the end, while the hotel may not be perfect in every aspect, the outstanding service more than makes up for it. I left feeling very satisfied and well taken care of.

This hotel is my second house!
