Pros:

晚餐+早餐超值享受，房間超大。一定要選兩餐，讓你吃好有吃飽。房間有廁所跟洗手台，沒浴室。洗澡泡澡要出大門三公尺，我夏天去沒問題，下雨或冬天可能要有所準備。

Auberge traditionnelle au bord de la caldeira.
Pros:

C'était une vraie auberge traditionnelle : 4 onsens pour toutes les chambres donc il faut s'organiser et vérifier que c'est libre pour aller se doucher.
Il y a quand même un lavabo et des WC dans les chambres. Et puis aussi de quoi se faire du café et du thé dans la chambre qui est assez spacieuse.
Les repas étaient excellents et copieux.
C'était très calme et les gens vraiment très gentils.

Cons:

Les futons étaient peu épais et donc c'est dur quand même pour le dos.
Il manque des rideaux occultant donc on se réveille tôt avec le jour.

Un accueil chaleureux, un bain chaud délicieux et une cuisine généreuse
Pros:

Le personnel de ce minshuku est vraiment top, très attentionné et prévenant du début à la fin du séjour. Le bain chaud (onsen) est un vrai moment de détente, très agréable, parfait pour se relaxer après une journée à explorer la région d’Aso. Côté repas, on a été bluffés : les dîners et petits-déjeuners sont copieux et généreux, avec de bons produits locaux, on ne pouvait clairement pas repartir sur notre faim.

Cons:

Petit bémol sur le petit-déjeuner traditionnel japonais : composé de plats plus typiques (poisson, soupe miso, etc.), il peut surprendre ou ne pas convenir à tout le monde si on est habitué à un petit-déjeuner plus occidental. Mais ça reste un détail de goût personnel, et l’expérience globale était vraiment chouette, on garde un très bon souvenir de ce séjour.

Traditional and comfortable Japanese style room with big hot pool in another area.

Value for money
Pros:

Room was clean, service was good, dinner and breakfast was of impeccable quality. Would highly recommend opting in for them if possible. Private onsen available on a first come first serve basis, which was really nice. Free parking was also available. I would definitely recommend Asogen.

Autgentiek Japans verblijf
Pros:

Authentiek japans verblijf. Wij verbleven in de familiekamer met 4 volwassenen en dit was aangenaam en comfortabel. Hebben vooral genoten van de privé Onsen en het typisch Japans ontbijt en rijkelijk diner. Zeer vriendelijke bediening.

Cons:

Als westerling is het wennen aan dunne futons om op te slapen. Dit was voor ons deel van de Japan ervaring en viel uiteindelijk best mee.

Pros:

This Ryokan had an excellent host who made us feel very welcome, even giving us a lift to Aso station and advice when we were leaving as there was a sudden torrential rain shower and we were on foot. The onsen was joyous in the evening after hiking around the nearby volcano. We had breakfast and dinner, both were magnificent feasts from professional kitchen staff. Top quality establishment!

Cons:

Nothing, but we found it strange that it was advertised as a budget hotel, even though the quality was so high! Perhaps a mistranslation on Google maps..

A wonderful traditional Japanese stay with amazing breakfast. Highly recommended.
Pros:

The traditional Japanese breakfast was beautiful - a highlight of our trip. We had done the rest of our trip on a tight budget and splashed out a bit here for this experience, and it was well worth it. The room was lovely and gave us what felt like a more authentic and traditional Japanese experience. The private onsen was good too, and something we would otherwise not have had the opportunity to try.

The kind and friendly staff made our stay incredibly enjoyable. The traditional Japanese tatami rooms were neat, clean, spacious, and very comfortable. We also loved the shared baths, which were charming, and well-maintained. The meals were both filling and delightful, featuring a wonderful variety of small, traditional dishes
