The drains in the hotel room sink/shower. There were also ants

Check in was at different property across the parking lot. Had to call that other hotel (best western) I believe to ask for clean towels, but they sent someone right up to my room to take the dirty towels and give me new towels.

Dirty smells like mildew. Need to remodel or close

The mattresses! They are like sleeping on a hard concrete floor. Would have been perfect had they been more comfortable!

Everything was good.

Workers weren’t very welcoming, front desk employees amazing but the ones walking around or cleaning weren’t polite. No good morning or help. I was struggling to put all my items inside with the big cart and the employee just stood there didn’t open the door or help me. Yet I helped by opening the door because they had the big laundry cart. Not even a thank you.

When we arrived, I was surprised to find out there was a $40 early check-in fee. I completely understand that early check-in can come with an additional charge, but I wish that had been mentioned when I called ahead and specifically asked about checking in early. Unfortunately, the first room we were given had a noticeable bad smell as soon as we walked in (like human waste). My friend and I immediately noticed it. We opened the sliding door to air the room out, only to find a pair of dirty boxers left on the balcony. We also noticed a wet spot on the floor in our room with brown staining. I'm not sure what happened, and I understand that something could have simply been overlooked during cleaning, but the smell alone should have been caught before the room was given to guests. We did a walk through and also noticed the two towels in the room had hairs in them. We called the front desk, and they were immediately apologetic and offered to move us to another room, which I appreciated. There was no refund for the early check-in fee, though, and it took a while to get the new keys, which unfortunately made us late for some of the plans we had for my bachelorette. The second room was definitely better. It smelled clean, was much more comfortable, and had another great view of the bay. However, I did notice some additional cleanliness concerns. At one point, I dropped something behind the couch and moved it to retrieve it. Behind the couch was a full set of large fingernail clippings, which was pretty unpleasant to find. I also noticed some black buildup or debris inside the lamp shades. The room was also extremely damp, which I understand may be difficult for a hotel near the water to completely control, but combined with what appeared to be buildup in the lamp shades, it did make me concerned about whether there could be mold or moisture-related issues.

Pool area was very small

The room felt a little dirty (possibly because it was older) one of the lamp shades was all brown underneath like it was burnt, saw tiny ants in bathroom, paint pealing on bathroom walls, lots of build up like calcium around all metal fixtures in bathroom, beds were not comfortable and the comfortee was paper thin. Air conditioner on high barely moved any air. And our sliding door was sooo loud and obnoxious to open and close pretty much like everyone elses because that's all we heard all night long was doors sliding open, doors slamming, people using bathrooms, and the smell of weed. Seems like the best western plus had everything better than our hotel which was quite depressing. Even the pool was super tiny andostly 3.5ft deep. Would never stay here again honestly. Explains why it was cheaper for two night in the beginning of August. We ended up leaving the next day.
