Fabulous everything at this small boutique hotel with rooftop pool and views.
Pros:

The staff at this hotel are EXCEPTIONAL, always so friendly, happy and helpful. They do their best to accommodate everything you need. The location is superb right at the start of the south end of downtown Puerto Vallarta opposite the beach, El Barracuda beach bar. I have stayed here many times and it is my favourite place to stay in PV. The rooftop pool, yoga platform and patio bar are lovely with amazing views over the Bay of Banderas and the city.

Pros:

Great location right across from the ocean! Very clean great housekeeping, a great breakfast, nice patio deck facing ocean, great customer service,, pool bar at rooftop was beautiful, and good value for your money.

Cons:

Drinks at pool bar we're not that good!

The pictures make this hotel look a lot nicer than it is!
- reception staff were rude and unfriendly - the male was primarily concerned with selling tours (as if he was one of the vendors on the street) and the female was blunt and helpful when we went to the front desk with queries. The best member of staff by a long way was the man that runs the pool bar
- Room 206 is awful - it is completely dark and the lights offer nothing to brighten it up, and there was a bad stench from the bathroom constantly. The balcony offers awful views over a construction site

Wonderful getaway - hope to return soon!
Pros:

We loved our stay at Paramar! It is right on the beach, the waves put us to sleep every night, we saw humpback whales breaching from our patio - overall just an incredible and magical stay.

Cons:

Honestly, everything pretty much exceeded our expectations!

Perfect Views and Location, but Can Be a Bit Loud
Pros:

I have been to PV three times and have stayed here every time. Overall really love this hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, with beautiful views of the ocean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I dealt mainly with Misael and he was so kind and welcoming. The location is also great, only 5 minutes walk to the Malecon and just a few feet away from the beach, but if you don't feel like being at the beach, they also have a rooftop pool and solarium. Literally everything you could need and a competitive price.

Cons:

The breakfast was prob my least favorite thing. The options are very basic. It's menu-style (not buffet) and you can only pick one small-portion thing from the menu. Service was also a bit slow most days. A buffet style where we can just get up and get our own food would have been better.
The noise level at night is also a bit unpredictable. There's a bar across the way (Barracuda) that blasts loud music until about 11PM. When they're done, there are drunk people partying on the beach until 5AM screaming and blasting music from there and no one says anything to them. So sleep was a bit hit-or-miss.

Fabulous hospitality - well designed rooms and hotel - will return for a longer stay.
Pros:

We liked everything from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Hospitality was exceptional. They thought of all the little details that made us feel special. Great roof top pool/bar with light snacks. Breakfast was tasty and simple. Amazing views from our balcony and the roof top. Comfy beds with quality linen and abundant fluffy towels in the spacious bathroom. Good hot water and water pressure. Shower was amazing. Located on a quiet street just off a main street across from the ocean. Lot's of local restaurants and shopping. Felt safe and secure

Cons:

Didn't like the fact that we did not book more nights - we only booked our last night in this PV area. There was a band playing across the street in a bar on the beach where we went down to see for a bit. Back at our suite, we could hear the music a bit but the patio doors and drapes helped silence the noise which did not go on for too long in the evening.
