We stayed in the loft room and loved its moody atmospheric decor, also very quiet even though it opens right onto Salamanca Markets.
Great location and lovely room.
The room was very hot and the aircon had a lot of settings I couldn’t adjust. Although it’s winter, the room could have been a more ambient temperature. Otherwise everything was wonderful.
The room had everything we needed without the clutter - Bathroom had a heated floor

A hidden Gem.
A fantastic boutique Hotel smack bang in the middle of Salamanca. Walk to Mona ferry, restaurants pubs and bars at your door step, absolutely brilliant.
We booked 3x different room categories and all are great !! If you like a moody style of hotel, this is for you.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Moss Hotel Hobart. The privacy was a standout — staff were attentive and helpful whenever needed, but never intrusive, and we barely crossed paths with other guests the whole time. Housekeeping was immaculate, with daily servicing that never missed a beat. Special mention to Tina, whose exceptional service was honestly the deciding factor in choosing The Moss over other hotels we were considering. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.
TV is not equipped with cable/satellite channels or smart casting capabilities.
Perfect location for everything. Lovely hotel, simple but elegant. We arrived late due to a delayed flight at 11.30 and reception kept an eye on our progress and ensured a warm welcome!

It was hard to see inside. Lighting could be improved. No windows.
Awesome room, and veiws. Close to city, waterfront, restaurants and bars. I walked everywhere.
The lighting was so dark in the room that I couldn't see into the drawer to find a black bottle opener in a black drawer . At reception they also couldn't help with this. Had to go to the bar underneath There was NO full length mirror. Not even on the back of the utility cupboard.
Great location, a perfect spot to launch into all things Hobart. Attention to detail from staff was exceptional, they were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.
Convenient location, beautifully renovated historic building, sound proof considering bars downstairs - lovely bathroom products and the size of the room for a hotel is very generous.
This was a great, clean little Hobart hotel in a fantastic location and the staff were amazing. I was concerned when I first arrived about the street noise but pleasantly surprised in our room how quiet it was. We stayed in a balcony room with expectations of a view which we didn't have, so it may be worth asking about when you book but it was nice to have the open outside space anyway. Overall a great stay, thank you!
