Very friendly staff!

Excellent property with excellent staff! The food at the restaurant was incredible!

The air conditioning was not working in the original tiny stuffy bedroom with a really narrow bathroom you could barely move in. They came in to see if they could get it going but to no avail. Thank goodness the nice man who checked me in moved me to a much more spacious accommodation (which at the price I paid should I have received in the first place!)

The room was really great and had all the amenities and more but the overall cleanliness was poor. The shower stone wall and floors and tap fixtures looked like they have never been scrubbed and cleaned ever. I was concerned about my feet so wire my sandals. The cooking and eating utensils had food stuck to them and the countertop kitchen appliances were . I never saw housekeeping nor was my room attended to. They wanted me to go back to the hot room overlooking the busy street but I refused as it was unbearabley hot. The lady (I presume owner or manger) allowed me to stay the second room but you could tell she was very unhappy about it. It was a bigger and better accommodation but again, for the price I paid I think it was fair.

I will say the breakfast was good and the young man who served me both mornings was very friendly and sweet. He made the stay much better by his kindness. They are lucky to have him on their staff.

The people managing the property are fantastic. Very friendly and quite helpful! The included breakfast is very good. The pool is a great way to get away from the busy beach. The property is a bit older but it’s well cared for. If you don’t like this property then you probably won’t like any property even if you spend way more money.

The staff was very friendly and always happy to help. It’s very jungle vibes with all the greenery inside the hotel courtyard area. It’s a very convenient location because there are many restaurants around and a grocery store. The beach is only a 7 min walk. The hotel offers a really nice breakfast selection with some traditional Costa Rican breakfast options as well as very fresh fruit. I was also able to book tours at the reception and they help with transportation as well. Overall a great experience 10/10 recommend.

The hotel is older and quant, conveniently located to dining, grocery store, banking, shopping and the beach. The staff was incredible, they are so friendly and very helpful. We stayed 3 weeks and couldn't be more happy! We look forward to our next visit

The building is a unique design, round. The rooms are very clean and the staff excellent. We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast that was delicious. It was noisy at night however, lots of street noise.

Hotel Boruca is an amazing place to stay in Tamarindo. It is located just off the main streets so everything is easily accessible and walkable but not in the center of it so you can enjoy some peace and quiet. The rooms are a bit outdated and run down but the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We had breakfast included in our stay and it was simple but tasty. They were extremely accommodating and tend to your every need. We didn’t spend much time indoors except to sleep and shower. Definitely recommend staying here for a reasonable price and access to the hot spots.

Was there 4 nights with wife and daughter. Had lots of fun in pool. Rooms were small and bathroom very narrow. The room had A/C which worked great. Hot water was great in bathroom. I arrived early and was given an early check-in which was very much appreciated. The only downside was that we paid for hotel and for breakfast prior to arriving at hotel. Our last day there we were told that our payment was declined (not true as we paid for it all on credit card weeks prior). Everything was eventually settled however, it is very frustrating having to prove you prepaid for everything only to still be told "No, that's not correct". This encounter pissed me off for the entire day.
I still recommend coming here just maybe not prepay your bill untill you actually checkout.

Very good breakfast great location and quiet

Room size small, but okay, bathroom more like a 2star hotel in usa, but absolutely livable.
(my room toilet doesn't like to "eat" paper, so you better not put in.. Not uncommon in Central America. Not a big deal somehow. But good to know. If you could get a good price for a night, you will be satisfied with this hotel, and location.
10 minutes walk from beach, and most restaurants.
Recommended. Safe place.

The staff and owners friendly and very helpful. The location , three blocks from the beach, made it easy to walk to beach and stores but was quieter than closer to town and beach. The garden and swimming pool were pleasant place to hang out and rest up.

The Hotel is nice and rustic. However, the room I had (#1) was directly across from the restaurant, so it was very noisy in the evenings. There was a lot of noise early in the morning around 5 AM when staff was preparing breakfast. I was woken up everyday around that time. I think if I had had a different room towards the back this would not have been the case.

I loved it being an eco-hotel and the eco-shower was my first ever experience and I loved it! The surrounding is all green with trees, plants, flowers all over and there is a troupe of monkeys that stays above the trees. They don't bother residents & mind their business lol. There's a pool, a picturesque breakfast nook & a Milanese pizzeria attached.

Dark dinghy old property. Would not recommend this hotel.

Clean, good cable, good A/C, good pool. Good hot water. Great location.
