Bara afar þægileg. Fyrir fólk sem prjónar, er Riga paradís, með fjölda garnverslana.
Pros:

Herbergið var rúmgott, rúmið gott og það var skrifborð í herberginu, nokkuð sem ég kann vel að meta. Líka ketill til að hita vatn, annað sem mér finnst skipta máli. Sængurnar mega örugglega vera þykkari þegar vetrar en ég veit svo sem ekki hvernig veðrið er þarna að vetri til. Það var hægt að opna glugga - stór plús, lyftur virkuðu vel og það er hægt að fá aðgang að þvottavél og þurrkara, annar stór plús þegar maður hefur ferðast marga daga. Staðsetningin er frábær, í miðbænum, starfsfólkið dásamlegt, einkum einn ungur maður í móttökunni sem alltaf var glaður og þægilegur. Lettland er með ríka prjónahefð og gaman að sjá alla fallegu vettlingana og fara í ótal garnverslanir (og ekki síður handverksmarkaðina).

Cons:

Mögulega passa að þrífa botninn á sjálfvirku kaffivélinni í matsal - sennilega tilfallandi. Hefði viljað sjá meira af brauði úr héraðinu eða hreinlega landinu á morgunverðarborðinu en annars var morgunverðurinn mjög fínn.

An extremely disappointing experience with unacceptable treatment of a guest.
Cons:

I had stayed at Hilton hotels many times before and always considered the brand a guarantee of a certain standard of service. Unfortunately, after my experience at Hilton Garden Inn Riga Old Town, my opinion has completely changed.

Despite having a fully prepaid reservation, I was refused check-in because I would not pay an additional €100 deposit that was not stated in my Booking.com conditions. The staff rudely told me to leave the hotel and threatened to call security to “help” me do so.

Later, the hotel management claimed that a report had been filed against me with the State Police because of my behaviour, while presenting a version of events that contradicted my evidence and video recording. The police subsequently officially confirmed to me that no such report had been registered.

I contacted Hilton Global and asked them to investigate the actions of the hotel staff and management, but my complaint was effectively referred straight back to the same Riga Hilton I was complaining about.

Booking.com confirmed that there was no deposit requirement in my booking conditions and promised to refund my money. After this experience, I can no longer recommend either this hotel or, unfortunately, the Hilton brand.

Ein sehr schönes Hotel am Eingang der Altstadt
Pros:

Sehr schön zentral gelegen, Altstadt schnell und einfach zu Fuß zu erreichen. Zimmer sind groß und gut eingerichtet. Sauberkeit war top, Personal sehr freundlich.
