Location; cleanliness
I booked a suite with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed, was given a suite with 1 queen bed and sofa bed when I called front desk they said give them a few mins and called and said my room was ready, was downgraded to a reg room with 1 king bed and a sleeper sofa, still not what I booked.
Staff, location, facilities--love the bathtub. Laundry. Cafe. Gym. Convenient to bus and lightrail.
$100 incidentals charge. I have never used incidentals.
We arrived on 2/20 Located only a few blocks away from the Seaport . We were there to take a Cruise. The Staff was quite Pleasant Ms. Berry was the clerk on duty .She was very resourceful and took good care of us there was problem with the fridge she had taken care of right away. We will recommend this location to friends and Family. thanks for the Experience. George Lyons. Did I say the room was clean and comfortable ? It was Thanks again !

It was convenient to downtown.
The location had a water break as well as the elevator going out.
La relación calidad precio
Todavía no me han devuelto los 100de fianza que hay que poner a la entrada.
Was checking in after a long day of work and had the pleasure of meeting Dawn Janelle and Christina at the front desk.
They welcomed me with a smile and uplifting attitude. They promptly informed me of the bistro operating hours and various other amenities that would help me relax.
I'll be honest I stopped listening when they told me the bistro had a bar! Lol
Thank you for the great customer service ladies...
This place has a lovely View of the downtown Norfolk projects. We experienced a hotel party in the lobby that was going on at 11:00 p.m.
The room was dirty. The floors kept your feet filthy and the headboard had head grease stains and big handprints on it from what you could only imagine.
I mean, if you are cool with staying in the hood it's not terrible especially if you are on a budget. I would suggest spending a couple extra dollars and stay somewhere else in the area
Had a great experience! 700 Bistro is a gem inside the hotel and Christinat Ricarde is cooking up some delicious food in the back. Recommend coming here any time you’re in Norfolk.
The restaurant food was amazing thanks to the cook Ricardo. The bartender, Christina, was also very attentive and nice!
Location was good across the street from Scope and Chrysler Hall. Atmosphere sterile and depressing. Not many furnishings or signage in the hotel. The resturant looked to be closed/abandoned when it was supposed to be open in the evening. The beds were great, the TV was very good, the chairs were comfy but the rooms were sterile and devoid of character or local/hotel information. The floors were clean but spartan. The walls were pretty thin so we could hear everything in adjacent rooms. The door let in the smell of pot either from next door or from the cleaners. I never intend to stay or recommend this hotel to anyone. It should be renovated or replaced by a hotel that doesnt look stuck in the 1980s.
It's is sad shape and understaffed. Problems with ac, water damage, cleanliness. Noise and general disrepair. The elevators were not certified. The roof leaked. It was in terrible condition.
My Valentines Day weekend Friday night stay at the Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown was a disaster from start to finish. Upon checking in, the front desk staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. It started with the clerk saying "Check in's doesn't start until 4:00 PM", it was 3:45. After getting back in line at 4:00 PM, we finally got a room at 4:45 it was a standard King room (816) when I reserved a Jr suite. I returned to front and requested what I booked. Another clerk gave me a Jr Suite (1117). The suite she gave me was the worst room I've ever seen!! It smelled of mildew, the bathroom was atrocious. The ceiling in the bathroom was leaking; the mirror and floor was filthy. The bed in the bedroom was NOT secured so it rolled all of the place. I decided to report the issues when we returned from dinner and a concert we there to attend across the street at the Scope.
Once we returned I reported the issues to the front desk. She gave me a few recommendations to correct the issue with the bed. However; it didn't because the bed frame was rusted. I went back to the front desk. She offered to move us to a standard room. By this time we were not willing to pack up our belongings and move to another room.
We left early the next morning. I left my information for the manager to call me. I ended up calling her. She blew me off stating she would return my call as soon as she's done checking guess in. I'm still waiting that call!!!
This stay ruined the Valentines Day weekend that I planned for months.
Save your money and stay somewhere else!"
Let’s start with a nice welcome. Was given a discount to eat dinner at the hotel so I took advantage. Had a great meal prepared by Ricardo where he gave me lettuce leaves instead of a bun on a perfectly cooked chicken sandwich with perfectly buttered broccoli. I also had a large salad and the dressing was very good. My bartender, Christina, was amazing. I never wanted for anything. It’s service like this that will bring me back here. People make the difference.
My son and I stayed at the Wyndham this past weekend and while I was a tad skeptical on booking based off others reviews, very glad I did stay here as I wanted to be in the downtown area.
Pros: Spacious open lobby, clean hardwood floor rooms, nice and attentive staff, walkable to restaurants/bars.
Cons: Only 1 elevator worked during our stay.
What is with hotels charging extra for parking? I think it’s ridiculous — especially when it’s self-parking and there are signs posted saying they are “not responsible for damage to vehicles.” Is $15 per day really necessary when I’m already paying $155 per night?
On February 14, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., I was disappointed with the Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown before I even reached my room — and I will not be staying here again.
First, the property is under renovation. I stayed in this same building in 2022, and it was under renovation then as well. The check-in experience was unacceptable. There was only one employee working the front desk while a line stretched back to the entrance. She moved slowly and did not appear customer-service oriented. Nor did she wear a name tag or properly address anyone.
The hotel requires guests to complete an additional form with personal information. Why? You already have my credit card and booking details.
After charging $15 for parking, guests are given a physical pass that must be placed in the vehicle — meaning you have to walk all the way back outside after checking in. This process is inefficient and frustrating.
Only one side of the elevators was operational. In the room, the bathroom sink counter was unusually low. The hot and cold water in the tub were labeled incorrectly — hot ran cold and cold ran hot. The faucet also rotated 360 degrees, which suggests it was loose or improperly installed.
The soap dish in the tub appeared to be improperly sealed, lacking silicone underneath, and there was what looked like black mold present (see photo). The “Do Not Disturb” sign would not stay on the door handle and repeatedly fell onto the hallway floor.
Finally, after returning from dinner, we found a small roach on the bathroom sink counter.
This stay was unacceptable from start to finish. I will not return.
Stayed here before our cruise. Amber, our bartender, was awesome! So personable and friendly!! We ordered food and that, too, was yummy! Thank you Randy and Ricardo our food was great!
We started our stay a little "iffy" - check in took an extended tIme and was not smooth. HOWEVER, Amber, Randy and Ricardo made the chaos AMAZING! Amber made us feel welcome while we waited with our luggage, tending to our every need! And Randy & Ricardo made the most AMAZING meal (def try the chicken stuffed portabello if available) . They made this overnight WELL WORTH IT!

Room old and run down. Kinda dirty
I attended a send-off for a former coworker and the staff was excellent. Christina, Amber, and Damon took care of our group of about 25 educational staff. We appreciate their dedication and care. Stop in and see them, they are awsome. They were great and have supported our group at holiday function.
