Said free breakfast on booking which is not accurate. Booked for pool and pool was closed which did not say on site and no reason being it's hot . Area had a lot of nice seating that could not even access to sot outside of room which was main reason picking . Convention occuring and did not consider parking for guests leaving us to walk far with bags and when rained . Elevators also one working with convention then went down leading us to walk up and down unsafe , poorly lit startes to 6th floor and down with luggage , with no assistance , no warning , or any attempts to accommodate guests. Still waiting for incidental refund which was told wouldn't be out.

I really do not recommend this hotel.
Pros:

Honestly. There isn't much positivity here in my review.

Cons:

The hotel was hot and humid. Some of the floors did not have AC. 1 out of 4 elevators were operating. The second night of my stay, the elevator broke. I paid over 500 for me and my friends to attend a convention held at this hotel and got charged another 100 as soon as I checked in, only to not be able to attend my full convention stay that I PAID FOR. They did not tell me what that extra 100 was charged for!

We stayed on the eleventh floor. We couldn't just walk down the stairs from there. We missed our event due to the lack of proper equipment. We had to use the service elevators the next morning AFTER THEY UNLOCKED THE DOORS.

The lobby bathrooms were poor to where I coud hear others complaining. Also the bathroom in my room was barely private. A sliding door mirror in the closet was the only "door" we had to any privacy. Not to mention the toilet seat looked like it was stained with pee. The shower was poor. Felt like showering with a water can.

I missed out on majority of my stay at the convention because I stayed here. I would not recommend staying here. You are bound to have something happen.

It had a Halloween convention going on with a lot of scary people walking around, trying to scare you, the front desk was not friendly

Good, not Great. I'll probably stay at the Hilton downtown next time. Closer to the cruise terminal

The lady at the Front Desk told me that my Citibank card had been declined, twice, due to being "Over Limit". I called Citi immediately, and they said, that, no, my card was actually approved, and there should be no problems with approval on my entire trip. I presented this info to the desk attendant, and she backtracked, and said, "yes, it seems to be ok". Right. wtf. That evening, we noticed very loud, boisterous girls in the adjacent room having a rollicking time, well past 11:00. After a couple of hours, we went down to the front desk (new employee now), and she asked us to please inform her if it happened again, as she would send security around and knock on the door if he heard anything, making his rounds. Sounds good. It took awhile, but it eventually dissipated. The next night, it happened again though, and we were disappointed. It was a full house due to the cruise the next morning, so there was no room for us to move. That said, the GM, I believe her name was Christina? was absolutely fabulous, as she was running F&B downstairs for breakfast, and was our server. She was awesome and was the one bright spot on our 2-night stay. Overall, the hotel is old, and it shows. It could be so much more, but, why pour millions into an aging relic? I have a feeling it won't be around another five years. The bedding was above reproach....very nice, and the A/C was quiet, which is always appreciated. Things we liked: Christina and the room itself....Things we could've done without, the nonsense at check-in, the noisy neighbors and the general vibe of an aging hotel.

Pros:

You go in there, they don't even say hi to you. You see a group of employees chatting around making jokes. Having one person checking in while there's 2 computers available. Then, you ask, excuse me, is something wrong with the computer? They look at you like they're in space like you don't know what they're talking about. And they say, we'll get
somebody to help you. Ten minutes later, employees smoking on the main entrance, no class horrible service

The staff was nice and helpful.

Cons:

Hotel was not what I expected at all. Had a very bad odor to the entire hotel. The elevators did not work, mind you it has 6 elevators and only 1 was working then none was working.

The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. The location was perfect for my destination which was at the Norfolk Scope. The restaurant inside the hotel had a good breakfast & dinner.

Cons:

The elevators were not working right. Sometimes had to use the staff elevators because all 4 main elevators weren’t working. Ice machine wasn’t working on multiple floors. Had to walk down 3 floors to get it.

The price once we arrived was more than what we were quoted on booking, the bathroom had no vents so the room smelled like sitting water, there was only one working elevator and they TRIED to charge us $15 A DAY for parking on the hotel lot.
