Pros:

A+ to have parking close and no extra charge. Every staff member was friendly and welcoming. Coffee in the lobby and maker in room. Nice to have a fridge. Desk also had a mirror which is handy if needed for makeup. Coffee shop close by with amazing pastries. Close to Quarter and other sites. Quiet and cozy.

Cons:

Coffee cups are small in the room. Keurig machine and I brought my own pods and creamer. Not really a big deal but I like a lot of creamer. ; )

Good location for local food, not designed for guests, subpar grounds and staff.
Pros:

The location for restaurants was great.

Cons:

My recent stay was incredibly disappointing due to a complete lack of professionalism and guest priority. Parking was inadequate because of an on-site event, and the front desk staff was unwelcoming, even continuing a blatant dispute in front of us as we checked in. The second floor had an awful smell that went unaddressed, but the worst part was the lack of security on the patio. The area was occupied by non-guests, making it feel so unsafe that we couldn't even relax there. Management needs to prioritize guest safety and staff training to ensure the grounds remain a professional and secure environment. I booked this hotel because I felt it wasn't to far from canal with the tram, however for the service we experienced I should have paid extra and stayed in the French Quarters.

Wonderful Boutique Hotel
Pros:

Great location! Far enough away from the loud crazy French Quarter but close enough to venture if we wanted to. Rooms are big, clean and nicely decorated. Staff was professional, kind, and accommodating.

Best choice hotel.
Pros:

Parking was fast and easy. Check in was quick and easy. The room was absolutely fantastic. The amenities were spot on, they thought of everything. Had a shared deck overlooking st. Charles st. The streetcar was literally right across the street, for .80 you can ride anywhere in nola. Alot of food options within walking distance. Staff went above and beyond, whatever they are doing at this hotel needs to be duplicated at every choice hotel. A 15 out of 10.

Great Place to Stay
Pros:

Where do I start, First off I will say the communications from the Hotel were spot on. Before my arrival they informed me that there was construction going on nearby and wanted me to know that, if there was noise, they apologized in advance and stated that ear plugs would be available if needed. Yes, there was construction but I heard nothing and I appreciate the heads up. My room was clean, decor was very nice w/ a lil' retro and artsy thrown in there, It was great!! The walk in Shower was huge and hot water galore!! The beds and the pillows were so comfortable!! Over all the look, feel and vibe was spot on!! I loved it!! The staff were all friendly, pleasant and welcoming!! Walking distance to many restaurants/bars, Trolley goes right by if you wanted to catch that. I would def stay again and highly recommend.

Pleasantly surprised, amazing, comfortable stay!
Pros:

The beds were so comfy, and the room was so spacious! It was like a big studio apartment. Everything was clean and the staff was so friendly. The streetcar stop is just outside the front doors, so that was amazing. Also, the hotel next door, the Ponchatrain, had amazing meal options, so that was super convenient. Overall, located in a convenient but not too noisy area and it’s so easy to access the French Quarter from the streetcar. We also walked down to Magazine Street which was a blast.

Cons:

Housekeeping knocked on our door every morning even though we had our do not disturb card on. I appreciate their willingness to help out, but it wasn’t necessary.

Excellent value. Nice rooms
Pros:

Warm greetings from the manager upon arrival after delays in travel. Super fast check in and out. Nicer room than I expected for the rate. I’d definitely stay again especially on a business trip as it’s easy to get uptown or downtown and to the highway for the airport.

A boutique label used to justify full prices with bare minimum effort behind the scenes.
Pros:

The location on St. Charles Ave is genuinely great. Walking distance to Magazine Street, the Garden District, and some of the best restaurants in the city. The neighborhood does all the heavy lifting.

Cons:

Dingy room, stiff bedding, flat pillows, key cards that kept failing, WiFi at 6.38 Mbps, no housekeeping unless you ask, building shakes every 8 minutes from the streetcar, and a sign pressuring guests to leave 9s and 10s.

Do your research
Pros:

I travel a lot and I am not precious about hotels. I don’t need a mint on the pillow or a concierge who knows my name. But the St Charles Coach House is something else entirely. It presents itself like a boutique property on one of the best streets in New Orleans, and for about thirty seconds after you walk in, it almost works. Then you start actually looking around and the whole thing unravels.
The room was dingy. Not “charming older building” dingy but “nobody has cared about this space in a long time” dingy. The bedding felt stiff, and not in a crisp linen way. More like it had been run through industrial machines too many times without anyone thinking about whether a guest would actually want to sleep on it. The pillows were basically cotton balls pressed into a pillowcase. I’ve slept better on red-eyes.
The windows were large, which sounds like a selling point until you realize they face a view that makes you want to keep the curtains drawn permanently. Room key cards stopped working multiple times during my stay, which turns every trip back to your room into a trip back to the front desk. The WiFi speed tested at 6.38 Mbps down. In 2026, at a hotel charging what this place charges, that is genuinely embarrassing. You can’t stream, you can barely work, and pulling up a map takes patience you shouldn’t need on vacation. Housekeeping does not come unless you specifically request it, which I have never encountered at a property in this price range.
The building sits right on the streetcar line, and you feel every single pass. The whole room shakes roughly every eight minutes. During the day it is just annoying. At night it wakes you up.
I also want to flag something that matters if you are traveling solo or arriving late. The hotel does nothing to manage the foot traffic immediately outside its entrance. You will get approached for money every time you walk in or out, and after dark it creates a situation where you find yourself timing your return to the hotel or walking past quickly rather than feeling comfortable arriving at your own front door. That is not a commentary on New Orleans. I love this city. It is a commentary on a hotel that charges boutique prices and takes zero responsibility for the guest experience beyond the lobby.
But here is what really got me. There is a framed sign posted in the hotel that reads “How can we make your stay a 10?” and then explains to guests that Choice Hotels considers a score of 8 “the same as a ZERO” and that only 9s and 10s count as positive. Let that sink in. Instead of earning high marks by actually maintaining the property, they are coaching guests to inflate their scores before they even check out. Once you see that, you start wondering how many of the glowing reviews online came from people who felt guilted rather than genuinely impressed.
This place is a facade. It borrows the aesthetic language of a real boutique hotel without doing any of the actual work behind the scenes. Save your money and book somewhere that earns its stars instead of begging for them.

Underwhelmed
Pros:

Free parking garage was great. Room was a comfortable size. Furniture was in good condition, although the mattress sagged a little on one side. The walk-in shower with shower arm was great and water pressure in the shower was also good. Staff seemed friendly and responded promptly as needed. AC worked fine. We were notified ahead of our stay, before the cancellation date expired, of construction noise across the street. We elected to stay anyway and the noise was not an issue during our stay.

Cons:

1. We did not have HOT WATER for part of our stay. We booked 2 nights. Upon returning to our room the 2nd night around 9pm, there was no hot water. That lasted until about 10am the next day. We were checking out by 11am, so rectifying that situation wasn't going to help us during our stay.
2. Upon check-in, the sink wouldn't drain. Thankfully, that was repaired immediately. Housekeeping should have known that when they cleaned before our stay. Also, the water pressure at the sink was weak intermittently.
3. The full length mirror had fingerprints all over it.
4. The stainless steel door to the refrigerator was very dirty.
5. It was hit or miss as far as the key cards working.
6. This is petty, but the lobby was dark and uninviting.

NOLA getaway
Pros:

The staff was friendly. Lobby was a bit dated. We were there for 2 days. Upon arrival the bathroom sink was clogged; staff corrected immediately. The water pressure at the sink was weak. The full length mirror needed to be cleaned as well as the door to the refrigerator, which was very dirty and dusty on top. On our 2nd night, at about 9:30, we discovered we had NO HOT WATER. That lasted until about 10am the next day, which was our check out day. Too late to correct for us.
