- unprofessionell beim check in
An zwei weiteren Tagen keine Mülleimerleerung.
Gar nichts!
The hotel is in an ideal location (easy walk to the German Shoe Museum), but Hauenstein isn't exactly big. If you're there for hiking, it's well situated for that as well. It was a comfortable hotel with a good restaurant and excellent breakfast. They even have an EV charging station (if that's a need). I think it's over priced, especially for mid-November, but many of the hotels in this "spa" town seem to be. It was the most expensive hotel room we had in our 24 day vacation, including cities such as Heidelberg, Frankfurt, and Munich.
18 steps up to the 2nd floor (1st floor in German vernacular) with luggage--not elevator.
Good location.
Very comfortable bedroom.
Lovely and extensive breakfast
Very friendly staff.
Quirky artefacts.
Bar area was very small. No TV area in communal area.
We booked at the last minute and they were more than happy to accommodate us and fit us in for a delicious evening meal as well. Everyone was extremely welcoming and what we especially noticed was the attention to detail: thread and needles in the wardrobe; a rucksack and umbrella in the room; bins just where you need them. The village is peaceful and set in stunning countryside. We had local speciality main courses for dinner and would definitely go back again if only the restaurant were local to us. The breakfast selection was excellent.
Nothing to say here.
Traditional building with modern touches.
No issues at all.
Excellent traditional hotel in small manufacturing town famous first for clogs and then for shoes. Food excellent, bedrooms traditional. Everything in wood from local forests. Perfect stopping point on journeys between Calais and Munich/Salzburg/Slovenia on scenic route between namur and stuttgart
The hotel was closed on mondays but they’d made easy provisions so I could get my key with no fuss. There is a balcony from which I enjoyed watching swifts engage in shenanigans centred around what appeared to be their sleeping spot under the rain drain of the building opposite. There were some disagreements about which swifts were and weren’t welcome there and some birdfights and amazing aerial acrobatics ensued. The room is lovely and dark at night and the breakfast is good.
Sockets are not very accessible.
