The room was clean and very comfortable
Only thing I didn’t like was during check in the person checking us in said my CC was not working so I had to use the CC machine to process payment but later when I went into my CC app it showed 4 different transactions for the room. When I inquired about this she said all but one would be gone by morning, however they still all show up over 24 hrs later. I am giving it another 24-48 hrs before filing a complaint with my CC company and the hotel!
We took this property last minute when we had to leave another hotel in town because of no A/C. This was definitely a Marriott price, but not the typical Marriott experience. The front desk employees were business-like, but not particularly friendly. At $500/night away from the city center, there is no free breakfast offered. My $12 breakfast was not memorable. At least the rooms were large and clean and the property is very presentable.
We liked that there was a bar and food in hotel
Had to ask for clean towels and get room cleaned! Exhauste fan in bathroom didn’t work! Had to ask that shower soap needed to be filled
Overall, this is a very nice property. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. My issue is about Value. I expected more for the price. I knew I was paying top dollar, but then I expected a premium experience. I felt that this Marriott has cut-back to a barebones experience. For example: no personal care amenities, housekeeping limited to every other day, paper-thin towels, no free breakfast or coffee, and certainly no mints on your pillow. But what can I expect for $535 per night in Northern Michigan?
This Marriott had just implemented a new "System" which seemed confusing to most of the staff. It certainly made check -in and check-out slower than normal, and changed the "Food & Beverage Credit" program. At check- in, I was verbally given a $10 daily "Food & Beverage Credit" as a loyalty reward. (BTW, The Continental Breakfast cost $12 at the hotel restaurant.) When I tried to get a $4.57 cup of coffee using the credit, I was told that my wife had to be present at the restaurant. Of course this resulted in a rather unpleasant confrontation when I refuse to go back to my room and ask my wife come down to the coffee shop. Perhaps it was a mis -understanding of a new policy, or maybe not. No one was quite sure except the server, who would not, and did not give me a coffee. I was left wondering; What has happened to Marriott?
It was ok
We booked a room with king bed and couch bit got queen beds and a chair.
I’ve been staying at Marriott’s very loyally now as I’ve became a fan. I was deeply disappointed in my recent experience with this one.
I wasn’t able to book online said something about an issue so I was close by and drove in to get a room. Great experience to check in but I was a little early and the room wasn’t available. Totally fine, the gentleman said check in is at 3 and we will have a room ready for you then. Perfect, came back 10 minutes after 3 and went to check in and was advised the room wasn’t going to be ready for another 1.5 to 2 hours. Get it, not really a problem but need to run a meeting and had kids that we thought could hit the pool, while we wait, asked and the guy said he would ask to make sure all good. Came back after speaking to the manager and told me I couldn’t do that. Which is frustrating as the room wasn’t ready and it’s not like I’m way early for the check in I was there when I was told to be and got the room wasn’t available. It’s not the level of service I traditionally get when I come to a Marriott hotel. Went up the street to a Hampton hotel checked in with a breeze and as this lady said, people are canceling because of the smoke, so not a problem to get me in.
Crazy .5 miles a different brand and an insanely different experience.
Very nice hotel in a great location. Clean rooms, comfortable bed and a very friendly staff. Will definitely come back.
No complaints.
Stayed here several times and never "blown away" with service or amenities. Situated in picturesque spot and overall quite clean. Used to offer coffee in lobby but Starbucks now intervened and free coffee is gone. Small point but noticeable. For several years they only clean rooms every other day. Not an impressive policy for Marriott.
Clean and comfortable rooms
I just wanted to thank the management team for having such a fine staff!! Kayla, Joe, Kevin and Darcie treated us very well, and always with a smile. We had a lovely stay and we will be back!
Beautiful hotel and area. Beautiful view.
The bed was very hard.
It was very quiet. And we rested well
Super clean. Amenities and room in general was just extremely nice.
The view was gorgeous, the room set up was amazing for snuggling up and relaxing, it was impeccably clean, and super quiet.
Literally cannot think of anything that could have been better.
