Very convenient location with great buffets.
Pros:

Very convenient location, all the main religious locations could be easily accessed. The breakfast buffet and the dinner buffer was excellent with a good variety of local and Western food. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Beds were not too comfortable, too bouncy but that could be personal preference. Toiletries could be better.

Personale accogliente e sempre disponibile a qualsiasi orario anche all’una di notte quando abbiamo riscontrato un piccolo problema nel letto. Vista mozzafiato sul lago e posizione molto comoda per raggiungere Kataragama temple!
Colazione ricca e cena molto molto abbondante, tutto eccezionale!

Cons:

Pulizia un po’ scadente complice il fatto che stavano facendo dei lavori di ristrutturazione nel periodo in cui abbiamo soggiornato

Excellent Stay – Returning Guest and Still Impressed
Pros:

This was my second stay at Lavendish Tamarind Lake, Kataragama, and it was another excellent experience. The few minor issues I encountered were addressed promptly and professionally by the staff. A special mention goes to Dammi, the on‑site manager, who was outstanding throughout my stay, always helpful, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring guests are comfortable.
The view from my room was exceptional, directly facing the beautiful Detagamuwa Lake. The hotel is also within walking distance of the city centre, which is very convenient.
The breakfast was included and offered an amazing selection of both English and Sri Lankan dishes. The room itself was huge, with plenty of space and a balcony overlooking the lake — ideal for families as well as solo travellers.
Overall, a very comfortable and memorable stay. I will definitely be returning with my family, thanks to Dammi and the wonderful team.

We always stay at Tamarine Lake when we are visiting Kataragama and the place is very close to Kiri vehera and the Deval
Pros:

Very spacious room and staff is also very friendly and helpful
We had an amazing Sri Lankan style buffet Breakfast as well

Cons:

Some of the bath towels were old and need to replace

Cons:

Breakfast (set menu) must be improved. Selection of Bread are not up to the standards. Slices of onions will not be matched to English breakfast. Please find a solution for jumping monkeys to roof it creates lots of disturbance for sleep particularly early morning.

Only good thing was the location and staff

Cons:

Cleanliness - the rooms are not clean, the fridge had mould growing in it. The shower smelled bad, the lighting in the bathrooms are really uncomfortable. No ventilation in the bathrooms.

An excellent Hotel and location
Pros:

We had three gests, but water bottle was not enough and tea & coffee also not enough. This is my only complaint. All other are is very good. can recommend always.
