Unacceptable Overbooking Experience and Insulting "Compensation" Offer
Pros:

I am writing this to warn fellow travelers about the unprofessional management and deceptive practices at Quality Hotel Saga.

On January 17th, 2026, my family (3 people) arrived at the hotel with a confirmed booking for a Family Room, arranged through our travel agency months in advance. Upon arrival, we were told the hotel was "overbooked." Despite having a guaranteed reservation, we were denied the room we paid for.

The "solution" provided was a nightmare:

1.Downgraded Experience: Instead of the family room, we were forced into two small rooms on different floors. This was NOT an upgrade; it was a major inconvenience for a family traveling together.

2.Wasted Time & Effort: We had to pack and unpack our shared luggage multiple times, wasting precious hours of our limited vacation time in Tromsø.

3.Broken Promises: The intern at the front desk verbally promised a refund for the inconvenience, which was the only reason we reluctantly agreed to the compromise late at night.

However, the post-stay "compensation" offered by the hotel is an absolute insult. After weeks of waiting, the hotel only offered a "discount or room upgrade for a future stay." This is completely useless for international tourists who may not visit Tromsø again anytime soon. It shows a total lack of sincerity and zero accountability for their breach of contract.

A confirmed booking should be a guarantee, not a suggestion. If you value your time and peace of mind, avoid this hotel. They do not respect their guests or their own commitments.

Short winter break
Pros:

The location was perfect, you couldn't get more central. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options constantly refreshed.

Teníamos la reserva confirmada, tanto por Booking como por un email del proprio hotel, pero cuando llegamos a la recepción, ya cansados de un largo viaje, nos dijeron que había un problema, que estaban completos y deberíamos ir a otro hotel. No nos han dado más explicaciones, ni ofrecido ningún tipo de compensación. El otro hotel no estaba mal, pero era un 3 estrellas al revés de 4 de nuestra reserva. Pero el principal punto fue la mala atención.

Central, good breakfast, poor room standard
Pros:

Central hotel with nice lobby and amazing food. Room standard varies a lot: mine had only windows into the roofed indoor court and felt like a prison. Bathroom needs an upgrade and the water pressure and water temperature required a lot of patience to get a hot shower on these cold February mornings.
