Fancy marketing but poor delivery

The room is large and clean.

Cons:

No in-room dining on weekends! That is not what I expect from a hotel operating under the Holiday Inn brand. After a 13-hour work day it was a real pain to have to go out and find food at 9:30pm.

Staff interactions were very robotic. Guest experience is clearly not top of mind.

Over-priced in my opinion to exploit event attendees. Room was tired, mouldy and requires attention

Reception staff very friendly and the hotel is conveniently located for transport links to the city

Cons:

I paid $490 for one night in a room with narrow twin beds and fixtures and fittings which required maintenance attention. I can't fault the cleaning staff - they had probably cleaned to the best of their allocation of time and resources, but there was mould on the bathroom ceiling, missing grout and dirty, ingrained marks on the wall. I advised the reception staff on check-out (who were very pleasant and approachable) and they stated I should have complained at the start of my stay, as they were unaware of the issues. I would argue that these items are historical - not recent, so I would ask, who from Holiday Inn is completing room audits on an ongoing basis? The restaurant was closed for lunch / dinner, which was not advised at booking and immediately outside the main doors (a designated non-smoking area) there were numerous cigarette butts strewn across the ground. The actual smoking area was full of litter and overflowing bins. I have enjoyed many quality stays at Holiday Inn properties over the years, but this was not one of them. The room was worth $200 per night at best.

Convenient, Comfortable and Great for a Quick Work Trip
Pros:

This was my first stay at the Holiday Inn Parramatta, and it turned out to be a really easy and comfortable choice for an overnight business trip. The room had everything I needed , clean, quiet and set up perfectly for a short stay.

The buffet breakfast was a lovely way to start the morning, with plenty of options and a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel’s location is also a big plus, just a short walk to the train station and close to cafés and shops.

Reception staff were warm, attentive and made check‑in and check‑out smooth and simple. Overall, a convenient and pleasant stay that suited my work travel perfectly.
