I stayed at Holiday Inn Parramatta from February 2 to 5 as a group leader, booking 18 rooms this year (and around 25 rooms last year). We returned because of our previous positive experience — clean rooms, good location, and generally friendly staff.

Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience regarding breakfast charges in my personal booking.

I had added breakfast for February 3 and 4, but on February 3 I requested cancellation. I was told that same-day breakfast could not be cancelled, but the February 4 breakfast could be cancelled. I accepted this.

However, at checkout (around 5 AM due to an early flight), I was charged again for February 4 breakfast. The front desk staff acknowledged the mistake and began correcting it. However, the duty manager intervened and insisted in a raised tone that breakfast cancellations are not allowed and that I should “remember this.”

If cancellation is not allowed, that should have been clearly explained when I requested it. Instead, it seemed to be an internal communication issue, yet no apology was offered. The manager continued speaking in a confrontational tone while I was managing a large group with a bus waiting outside.

This interaction was extremely disappointing and overshadowed an otherwise positive stay. As someone who regularly brings large student groups and selects hotels carefully, respectful communication is very important.

Overall, the facilities and location are good, but this experience left a negative impression.

전자레인지조차 없어 불편했다, 필요하면 도와 준다고 하더니 햇반 때문에 두 번 부탁 했는데 할 떄 마다 사인 받고 햇반을 전자 레인지 부탁했는데 너무 안 익어 다시 한번 돌려 달라고 했더니 원래 해주는 거 아니라고 다시는 부탁하지 말라고 방에 전화질하고 난리 부렸다. 처음부터 안된다고 하지 자기네 들이 먼저 부탁하면 도와 준다고 하더니 도무지 이해 불가였다, 전자 레인지 부탁이 그렇게 난리 칠이었나?
