Convenient and familiar. I've been staying here since 2018 and appreciate the consistency.
The staff is hit or miss with how they treat guests. Some are very acceptable and accommodating where others are flat rude.
Nothing
When we arrived we were given the choice to park on the 1st level and give the car key to the security guard or park on top level which we did. We saw that all the parking spots were marked for Cape Town Lodge, in my logic after seeing this, that should give us direct access to a lift to go down to reception but this is not the case, the security guard could have informed us of this. So we walked all the way down with our suit case on a steep slop.
When we arrived at reception the lady there was very unfriendly, no warm welcome, no sign of true hospitality. she was very robotic in her way of checking us in.
The signage you have at reception to connect to the wifi is not correct, it should say to connect to Cape Town Lodge guest instead of just cape town lodge. The receptionist was very unapologetic, she did not give any information about the hotel at all, did not talk about breakfast, etc. Absolutely nothing.
When we got to our room I realized that there is no Rooibos tea but only normal tea. I texted the Whatsapp number which I saw on the signage at reception. To this day nobody has replied to my message, I also tried to call the number but nothing.
I then dialed 9 and someone answered and simply said "we dont have Rooibos tea" how can a South African hotel not have rooibos tea???
The mattress is old and very soft , in need to be changed. There is no shower cap!!
The next morning I called reception about the rooibos tea, I was put through HK, had to speak to several people in that department before a very abrupt lady said: "Mam, HK does not stock Rooibos tea" I'll get back to you which she never did. A bit later a Housekeeper brought us 2 Rooibos tea bags.
The check-out was as bad as the check-in (same receptionist), no good morning, have you enjoyed your stay, nothing just "checking out?"
You have 4 stars, you barely deserve 2!
I will never be back and would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Value for money, good breakfast and convenient location
A group of young adults typical of college students used to make a lot of noise from their rooms at night
The location is great from travelling around Cape Town and the hotel is so clean and neat. The staff are super friendly. I have been visiting the hotel for the last 7 years.
The wifi was a bit slow at times.
Peaceful and very tidy and clean
Nothing at all i loved everything
Neat and tidy ND definitely very comfy 👌
Staff is always so serious I have never seen smiles..the only proper welcome we get is from the car parking attendant, ND the one lady at reception but the rest no go..
Accommodation was nice and location was great.
Upon check in , we were asked to pay a deposit. Cash or with card. They told us it would get refunded upon check out.
I paid the deposit with card. However, when I checked out, they asked me to write down on paper my credit card details including card number, expiry date and cvv code. I've never seen this practice ever anywhere. This should NOT be required for a refund at all. It's exposing customers to scams. I have now emailed the finance department to get the refund but I'm still waiting to get refunded. It's unfortunate such practices have ruined an otherwise good experience.
