Reservations not Honored
Pros:

Booked a double queen room in May of 2025 for graduation in May of 2026. I had this reservation for over a year! Show up and guess what….they are overbooked and gave the room away. This is after waiting 15 minutes for someone to even show at the front desk. We did check in at 11:30 pm, but we called ahead of time to confirm tge room AND checked in with digital key. They tried to put us in a king, but someone was in the room. It took a literal hour to finally get us in a king room. Don’t trust your reservations at this hotel, it was a hot mess! I was a pretty loyal customer of Hilton, but the reviews about busy weekends are correct-they truly don’t care.

I wouldn’t recommend.
Pros:

It’s a good location.

Cons:

There were no luggage carts available. When asked about them, I was told they only have 4, (for a 400+ room hotel) which I find extremely ridiculous! Surely this hotel could afford more luggage carts for their guests. Also, you are charged for parking in an outdoor parking lot, I will not stay here again for that alone. And, they have a bar, but it closes at 10:00 p.m., I can maybe understand this during the week, but on weekends, and especially on Kentucky Derby week, unacceptable!

Our stay was excellent and we only stay at Embassy Suites.
Pros:

The breakfast was excellent having hot made to order omelets, breakfast meats, grits, and much more. I would have liked to see more fruit.

Cons:

The appetizers in the evening function and maybe an hour or two of music like Knoxville’s Embassy Suites.

Not even new renovations helped!
Pros:

Below Average even with newly renovated rooms. We checked in for a one night stay and our room had a sink leak with standing water in the cabinet. Maintenance was called and ultimately we were moved to a second room but the bath tub was completely clogged in this room. Both rooms were newly renovated, the tub in the second room was not updated and had rust and broken enamel. The entire lobby was dirty and even when we woke the next morning (see picture) nothing had been cleaned up even though it was after 9am. The food at breakfast was good but there was no high chair at all for our 15 month old to eat. There was also stacks of wet towels in the ice maker area that were there over 24 hours from another leak in that room. Front desk was not interested in offering much more help other than a new room. No help moving everything or even offering any discount on room for our trouble. Would not stay here again.

Under Renovation - Paying for amenities that aren’t available
Pros:

Booked Lexington Embassy Suites - Coldstream through Hilton Honors. The most I’ve ever paid for a Hotel stay in Kentucky. But had kids/grandkids I was also hosting. Nowhere in the booking process was it mentioned the Hotel was undergoing renovations. And full prepayment was required with no cancellation option.

Planned to have 3 young grandkids swimming, but pool was closed. Paddock Grille menu was limited to 2 apps, 4 entrees, 2 salads, and 2 sides. No other dining choices at the venue. So, just pre-prepared, cold or microwaved food. Quick-grab kiosk also closed. No coffee or drink station, except at breakfast. Only bottles of water available. Construction supplies laying around everywhere. Our rooms already renovated, but neither of the sinks drained.

I’ve stayed in other KY Embassy Suites with great experiences. Whoever manages this one doesn’t seem to care about the customer experience. If you are renovating, disclose it before folks book rooms. If amenities are closed or unavailable, don’t list them or note in booking.

BEWARE- UNDER RENOVATIONS UNTIL JUNE 2026
Pros:

Excellent location just outside of the city.

Cons:

Booking doesn't have it advertised that the ENTIRE hotel is under renovations. The pool and fitness center were closed which was very disappointing for my children who are on spring break. It also isn't noted that there is a $15 per night for parking. The hotel is going to be very beautiful after renovations but walking into a building full of paint and drywall and hazard tape, the price should be significantly discounted right now. We stayed two nights and housekeeping never cleaned our room. There weren't enough towels or bedding when we arrived for the size of our party. We love embassy suites but we were definitely blindsided. No refunds were offered either which I think was unfair. We made the most of our short stay but all in all it was very disappointing.

Horrible hotel
Pros:

Breakfast

Cons:

Room leaked down bedroom wall over toilet and shower there was construction pool was closed. We had 2 doubles booked 2 nights and ended up in 2 king rooms. I feel was due to construction men staying there for free. It was the worst stay ever

Pros:

Whole hotel is under construction. No available bathrooms in the dinning area downstairs, had to go back up to our room for that. We lost water for over an hour while in our room. Pool was closed without being notified ahead of time. No bar of soap and the toilet handle broke. Luckly I know how to fix stuff.

Cons:

Just about everything except the breakfast
