Pros:

Beautiful hotel, very good leisure facilities included. Reception staff good on arrival. Well situated for interesting days out. Good was good in the Restaurant in the evening.

Cons:

Breakfast was extremely average. Potato scone on the breakfast were greasy and unnecessary. You’re not too posh for a hash brown instead. Sausages not good. Too herby and tasteless. Paddy and Scott’s coffee isn’t very nice. £24 for that is an utter rip off. Service in the restaurant was ok for us but I sat back and watched lots of confusion despite only 8 tables in. 1 person in charge just about holding it together as the rest look unsure in all areas. Oh and there were so many items not available in the menu. How can you not have hand cut chips both days we were there. No wings, lasagna, certain ice creams, sweet potato fries and more.

A nice old style hotel in a good location.
Pros:

The room and bathroom were clean and my bed was comfortable.
The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Nice enough but sleep not the best.
Pros:

Nice place, relatively modern gym. Dated hotel, but that's part of the charm which I quite like.
Restaurant is nice and modern too with good food if tad pricey.

Cons:

Mattress was not great and pillows were so soft my head sunk in them
My room was also next to main road, so with old windows, bit noisy.

Was offered and accepted reduced upgrade; not sure what I got that warranted the extra £20. Wifi was diabolical and I was there for work. Couldn't adjust the room tempature, hot water took ages to come through and shower was tiny, awful water pressure and so noisy!

Had to park in the overflow carpark at the back when I returned from my event and there was no lighting and no directions of how to get to the hotel entrance. I didn't feel very safe walking around trying to find my way and then a taxi driver ended up walking me through the hotel kitchen!

Complained when I checked out but didn't seem interested and wasn't offered anything to rectify. Also completed their feedback email - no follow up.
