Very nice hotel in the centre of Bath. Both the hotel and restaurant are expensive but both deliver what you would expect for the money.
Two things: the coffee served at breakfast was like water - this needs to be fixed. The breakfast is otherwise excellent.
Then, on checkout I am asked to pay a discretionary service charge of about £16. In over 40 years of travelling around the globe never ever have I been asked to pay a service charge at checkout. The price for the room is the price for the room. I would encourage everyone to decline this voluntary payment as I did.

Hotel was central to everything
Breakfast was disappointing, left in hot hold, so everything was over done.

Rooms needed more storage, no draws and limited hanging space, had the ironing board in a single wardrobe.

It took a long time to order and pay for a drink in the bar due to the table service as we only wanted one drink. Very expensive drinks once the service charge is added on.
Apart from that, everything else was perfect.

From the moment Alec in his elegant tweed jacket whisks up your suitcases - you feel in luxury. The finishes & furnishings are sumptuous & the bed was divine. We cant wait to go back.

Great location and lovely hotel
The exceptional service from the doorman! This gentleman saved the day (actually the stay) for us! We were not told that there was no parking at the Hotel due to renovations and my husband cannot walk far due to a disability so we were really stuck. The lovely doorman sorted everything and sourced a parking place (for Blue Badge holders) outside the Hotel.
