Nice hotel
Pros:

Very comfortable, very clean, the breakfast was good all freshly cooked and lots of selection

Cons:

Bit of noise disturbance in my room until quite late, couldn't tell if it was other guests or I think a store room next to my room causing it, shame really was excellent otherwise

Pleasantly surprised.
Pros:

In view of the score on the website, we weren't expecting too much. However we were very pleasantly surprised. Originally a large country house built in the 1800's, now with a large extension to the rear containing the bedrooms. It has been sympathetically converted whilst retaining all the nice features of the original house.
We made a last minute booking and settled for a standard room - no complaints at all, very satisfied and not a little surprised.

Pros:

Bedroom and bathroom were clean, restaurant and bar (very small) on site

Cons:

The towel rail in the bedroom did not turn on, it was freezing, especially with a tiled floor. Cold tap (sink) in the bathroom was little more than a trickle. Hot tap was blisteringly hot.
TV in the bedroom randomly came on at 4am.
Restaurant on site very expensive for what was on offer, breakfast buffet had a relatively good selection, but everything which should have been hot wasn't. The eggs were stone cold. Coffee was awful. If not on B&B rate, breakfast is noted as £24 per person. If anything additional ordered, there's a hefty supplement.
There's a spa but it's very small and accessed across the car park.
Despite the car park being large spaces were difficult to find, I think there were several conferences on.
It was OK but I'd not rush back. I did speak to reception about the issues with the heating, water and haunted TV but quote a lacklustre response.

Hot drinks from thermos....
Pros:

Beautiful interior
Comfortable room and bed
Good service in the lounge
Very clean

Cons:

Although all staff were very nice , I felt really uncomfortable in the breakfast buffet. We were only shown tea and coffee in the " thermos pots " to help ourselves. I tried coffee which was undrinkable to me, then noticed everyone else had pot of tea or fresh coffee in a cafeteria at the table, so I asked fresh coffee which was no issue. I am not sure what their intentions were, perhaps they just wanted to cut down one of their tasks however may I just suggest that you need to treat all customers equally- yes we are Asian but have been living in this country for a long time therefore we do know tea and coffee should be served fresh in the hotel, although I have seen tea and coffee from thermos pots in Toby carvery 's budget breakfast 😂
