Pool and situation
Breakfast poor.
Room’s desperately need updating with proper walk in showers. No proper reception but staff did their best.
The whole hotel needs to be updated. Very sad to see
Nice room, friendly staff
Very high prices in bar and restaurant. And the service did not work out
Very friendly helpful staff 👌
My room was so comfortable. Fully air-conditioned, which was great in the current heatwave. And the curtains blocked the light out really well, I had the best night’s sleep for ages.
I also had the most delicious Indian meal in one of their restaurants.
The pool was super crowded with lots of kids, as it’s open to the public. But it was a heatwave so was understandably popular.
Convenience
Cannot contact the property by phone.
Nice surroundings big beer garden near the lido. The room was spacious and modern with air conditioning which was needed as we went on a hot day. The food was good
Lido is a bit noisy with kids
Comfy bed and swimming pool
Waiting 20 minutes to get a drink at the bar. Staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing.
Very limited choice of food and wine in the restaurant, not served, got up and walked out.
No maid service during the day, change of towels, beds made, tidy room etc, had to ask for clean towels
Arguments between staff in front of customers
All was good, especially the pool
Parking is too expensive, tv worked on only one channel
My booking was cancelled just 2 hours before check in, no real explanation, just a 'Technical Issue', no alternative's offered, sounded like they had just over booked. They didact even notify Booking.com so I have now had chasing emails from them, plus I had to book a new hotel at a Premium price because it was so short notice, and hotel refused to cover that additional cost.
Everywhere was clean. I really appreciated that the cleaning products they use didn't leave a horrible chemical perfume smell anywhere. The breakfast has improved substantially since my last stay and the bar food was also tasty and good value. The pool and area is lovely albeit there are 1 or 2 wonky patio slabs. There is a fridge in the room.
The room is quite shabby now and there were no plugs by the bedside to plug in phone or charge watch - this was the most problematic issue. The curtains were still hanging off the same hooks they were approximately a year ago when I stayed in the same room! The air in my room was quite stale and benefitted from an hour of open windows and door to get some fresh air through it.
Quiet, good sized and well equipped rooms. Nice garden and pool, with excellent access to Box Hill for a walk. Friendly and attentive staff.
Needs some TLC as it is a bit dated and the bathroom facilities are showing lots of wear and tear. Air con in rooms but doesn’t work. Mould around windows.
Excellent location for visiting Debbies vineyard
Bed very comfortable
Location was perfect. Room was large and very comfortable. I particularly liked the chairs and table by the large window.
It would be nice to have free parking
