Ideally would want to go back because of the loaction but would want to see much better reviews

We asked for a room upgrade as it was my wife's birthday and they did this for us. Was a really nice room with a view over the garden and the river. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Cons:

Unfortunately when trying to run a bath the water just wasn't hot enough. The hotel felt a short staffed, regularly nobody at the bar to serve. This was the same with breakfast which took a long time to serve and overall thought the breakfast was very disappointing, not very good quality bacon or sausage, cold poached eggs and don't really think that half a mushroom constitutes a serving when the description on the menu said the breakfast came with mushrooms?

We told reception that there was no heat. They kindly found an ancient heater which warmed us up.

Fantastic location. Shabby interior and exterior.

Breakfast was very good in a lovely bright room overlooking the Thames.

Cons:

The hotel decor is dated, in need of redecoration.
First impressions count. The hotel sign is hanging off the wall, like Fawty Towers, the walkway from the car park to reception needs maintaining, a good sweep - hay and old confetti scattered the whole area. This was not cleared over 2 days.
We waited in the lounge area - tables hadn’t been wiped, carpets were dirty and in need of hoovering or a good clean.
Common areas were all tired, in need of a good clean, walls wiped down from drinks split etc. just general attention to detail would make all the difference.

Restaurant food and staff were very good. Location and views excellent.

Cons:

No hot water on Saturday night. Room was freezing on arrival, no heating on despite it being a very cold day. Took hours to warm up. Fridge/cooler required for antibiotics not working despite checking ahead, asked 3 times for maintenance. Couldn'tbe repaired.. Only 1 towel and enough toiletries for one. No soap. Common areas once you left the ground floor were very dilapidated, threadbare carpets, scuffed and dirty paintwork, damp patches on walls and ceilings

Polite staff but the hotel could do with a some renovation in a number of places.
Pros:

Great Breakfast

Cons:

The hotel is looking very tired in places. The toilet was blocked in the first room, so we had to move rooms. In the second room the TRV on the radiator was not working so we had to leave the window open to cool the room down.
