Great location
Rooms are very tired, aircon doesn’t work so it’s very hot and stuffy
Very central for Marlow, and being next to the river Thames was great
This was our second stay
Nothing
Position and size and comfort of room
Nothing
Location good as we went for Sindhu.
Breakfast arrived cold and the poached eggs appeared to have been pre-cooked and reheated. Extremely disappointing. Room was tired mould on shower door and hair on taps. No real milk and no mini bar. Needs to be refurbished for the money.
Location
Room size was small for the money
Hotel is in a perfect location in Marlow - right on the River Thames overlooking the Weir yet just a stone's throw from Marlow High Street. Our room was a deluxe room in the main building with views of the river. The room was spacious and well appointed with plenty of plug sockets and mirrors, lovely toiletries, a kettle as well as a nespresso machine, bottled water and comfy chairs to sit and admire the view. The staff were all professional and polite yet friendly. There were a few nice touches (tissues, magazines, iron, safe, fridge). There is a well stocked bar and two restaurants on site. We were offered help with our bags. The hotel is well maintained and the gardens were well kept with seating on the riverside. Breakfast was substantial, well presented and tasty. Parking is free for guests.
Bar and restaurant prices are on the high side. The menu in the restaurant on a Sunday was very limited with just 4 options (2 of them meat roast dinners). Our room was perfect but note that the main building is a bit of a maze of stairs and corridors and it seems a lot of accommodation is in annexes, some with no views. There is no lift.
Excellent location. Reasonably spacious room. The staff very courteous and helpful. Beautifully clean linen.
Breakfast (cooked): excellent. Free parking included.
Having visited this hotel (which was true 4**** 40 years ago), we were SO disappointed this time - It needs painting outside, has paint peeling off some side walls. Toilet seat not soft close - a shock when dropped down for first time. Our toilet had residual 'nasties' in it, dirty line at water line. Asked on first day to have it cleaned, asked again second day - finally cleaned, sort of - at least it was not totally offensive. There were chrome strips missing from shower taps. Surprisingly, the OUTSIDE of the shower door encrusted with residues built up over many years - dreadful. Wanted to sit in comfy chairs to watch news - TV not working. Breakfast (buffet): very poor - fruit salad had very limited choice and bowl not replenished (looked like tinned fruit). Croissants stale and tasteless - no pastries for those who like them. Certainly not 4-star breakfast overall.
Excellent location, friendly staff.
Slightly tired decor, very average breakfast.
Great location, beautiful room in a well appointed hotel. All the staff were friendly.
More information about the are required from reception staff.
Beautiful location.
In need of renovation. spaces and rooms look a little tired.
beautiful river views from the hotel own restaurant, but food and presentation pretty average.
Comfotable accomodation. Good breakfast
Great views
Lovely location right on the themes
Labyrinthine bedroom layout
Fantastic location, a short walk across the bridge takes you right into the main street in Marlow, which was great!
We appreciated the hotel being dog friendly and loved the breakfast and the outlook across the weir and river, beautiful.
We found the bar expensive, and was surprised to find we were charged a service charge on each transaction, which explained why. But we just used the pubs in the high street instead.
Location
Barely any hot water
Location and very helpful staff
Nothing it was lovely
