Non
The location was superb just off the high street and opposite a college, really quiet at night. The breakfast was great, beautifully cooked, a great choice of fruit and teas.
We had drinks in the reception/sitting room area but I think they should get a bar area.
Location, staff very friendly and willing to help.
A good number of staff had been employed recently and were not familiar with procedures ,which was not their fault. The bar did not have full availability of the limited list, but actually had other offerings which were not listed eg Cointreau. No bistro and bar had only crisps and chocolate bars. Not what you expect in a hotel with a 4 * rating and very different from the Hawkwell House hotel in Iffley, also a Mercure 4* Central heating system could not be adjusted,up or down and extra heating f rom a mobile electric heater.
Location
The hotel is very run down. The bar and restaurant are closed. My room smelt. The water was only lukewarm. My room faced a solid wall at back of hotel and was above such noisy vents I was kept awake by the constant humming. When I returned at 11am to collect my bag my key had been cancelled. I had to go back down two floors to reception to join a queue of two other guests experiencing the same problem. (Which i notice from reviews has happened before).
Location was good
Bed very uncomfortable. Very noisy windows need secondary glazing. water was not hot we left it running for ages
Excellent location in the center of Oxford. Easy to get to by bus and walking, room was good, shower hot and nice bathroom. Room had windows that opened so we could have fresh air and could hear the bells :-) Paid extra for breakfast which was good value. Staff were very helpful. Room had kettle and fridge which was useful.
Was all good
Locatie.
Faciliteiten in de kamer i.t.t. de betaalde prijs. Geen handdouche (dan verwacht je een douchekapje), geen notitieblok/pen, lotion, vanity set etc.
Sterke geur in gangen en badkamer. (Oud leidingstelsel?).
Location
A little pricey but reflects local demand
Central
They overcharged me £48 and ignore my emails trying to claim it back
The location was perfect .
The staff were great.Very friendly, helpful.and professional.
The hotel smelled of sewage which was really.off putting.
The use of.plug in air fresheners was overpowering.
Our room was very.cold and the radiator did not work.We knew,as soon as we walked in the room that we would have heating concerns as there was 2 electric heaters positioned appropriately around the room.
The water was only.warm in the shower,it.did not get very hot.
the shower did not work in my room 301...only discovered this the morning i was checking out...so no shower for me. breakfast ok....overflow room freezing so had to move to inner room.
shower not working . Smell of sewers in the lobby when i arrived.
Decor of room was very good. Bed comfortable and shower facilities good.
Mentioned to Receptionist that had seen a rat running around the bin store outside and the foyer area did have a very unusual/unpleasant smell.
The location is excellent
Cosy rooms.
Historical.
1. The hotel smelled so bad .
The odour reminded me of dead rodents and the smell was being covered up by large amounts of air freshener. This was mainly in the lounge and corridor. Not the bedrooms.
2. I left a winter coat in the wardrobe. The hotel has not had the courtesy or professionalism or honesty to contact me. So basically seems as if they can't be bothered to contact me and would rather take my coat jacket
3. My sons key card was blocked before the 12 noon check out. He was on crutches and went to the room. Only to find his keycard not working..
I had to organise the key card and take it upstairs to him. No apologies from the staff or assistance.
4. The staff seem like a bunch of low paid students. Who didn't care much or represent the Accor Brand.
The only thing going for this hotel is the location
I am an Accor Member and a senior VP of a Global Resort and Hotel company and have stayed in so many hotels in many countries. I very rarely give reviews and certainly dislike giving negative reviews . But for the room rate paid for 2 rooms I expected more !
