Very pleasant and would come back
Pros:

All good

Cons:

No slippers or dressing gown. For a hotel this good I would expect that. My spa treatment was lovely but the noise from the corridor outside the treatment room was constant and took the edge off the experience

Great quality old hotel for a central Oxford stop-over.
Pros:

Great location in the centre of Oxford, - and 15 minutes easy walk from the Train Station.
Lovely old hotel, with past style very appealing. Very friendly Reception staff - Thelma and Eric. (Thank you).
But nice restaurant and bar areas in hotel. Recommend it.

Cons:

Breakfast too expensive for us vegetarians - buffet not a help as same price. (So went outside round the corner for breakfast. Lots of choice).
Meal prices in hotel bit expensive. That's all.

Hotels is beautiful and rooms were comfy
Pros:

The hotel and rooms were beautiful.
Bed really comfy and the food were good.
Bar staff and restaurant Alice staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Reception staff were not great. Didn’t explain where the rooms were located and that there was no lift access to this part of the hotel, which had steps. Also didn’t let us know what charges were made on check out and didn’t get a receipt.

Nah
Cons:

The pillows were quite uncomfortable. I stayed there to celebrate my birthday and had requested a few small celebratory touches, such as a birthday card, which they had agreed to arrange, but nothing was provided. We were so disappointed that we didn’t complete our stay and left a day early. Unfortunately, the receptionist made no effort to address the issue or offer any form of resolution or compensation.

Great hotel, lovely people
Pros:

Beautiful - excellent location and very friendly team

Cons:

I requested a quiet room through booking.com, but had a roadside room and plenty of noise. To make it worse our AC wasn’t functional so and we couldn’t open the windows as that made the noise worse. This was a social trip and only 1 night so the above did take the shine off

Pros:

Location and staff brilliant.
Food lovely

Cons:

The bedroom was a little noisy. I think it was the water system filling up when you flushed the toilet.

If you can afford it…and it was a stretch for us… it’s a wonderful place to stay right in the centre of Oxford.
Pros:

Such a charming building and decor. Our twin room was spacious and tasteful without being overbearing.
Great beds, lovely shower, comfortable room temperature. Can’t fault it. Location excellent. One of the lifts was out of action, but as we were on the second floor it was a pleasure to walk up the beautiful staircase….exercise! Great and varied breakfast…. Scrambled eggs delicious. Valet parking very convenient, but not cheap. All the staff were welcoming and very helpful. A lovely relaxing stay.
