Handy for RSC
Pros:

The staff are the main plus point. Excellent staff. Pool was good.

Cons:

Areas of the hotel are a little tired, though being worked on. The buffet breakfast was'nt great value or especially good but convenient and not terrible either.

Comfortable and convenient for the RSC.
Pros:

Well situated. Pleasant atmosphere. Attentive staff.

Cons:

The restaurant menu for dinner could be more extensive. Surprised that, apart from flat iron, the steak was not available. Some Stratford hotels charge, but given that parking is within the grounds, parking should be included for residents.

will be back! So good if you are going to see the RSC theatre
Pros:

I liked the range of food at breakfast. The room was super comfortable and everything worked easily.
Staff were all very helpful and it was a pretty good rice.

Cons:

I think it's a bit mean to charge guests for parking! why not just put the overnight price up by a few pounds?

Cost cutting with the withdrawal of daily room servicing is blatant profiteering given that when I stayed, two one night
Pros:

The property location was good, parking was easy and the staff were very friendly

Cons:

Despite the welcome leaflet confirming that your room would be serviced daily unless you hung out the “Do Not Disturb” notice, the hotel has withdrawn servicing rooms for guests staying more than one night. Booking one room for two nights often seems to cost more than booking the same period using two separate one night reservations at this hotel. Therefore, the longer term guest gets worse service at higher cost which is completely unacceptable.

Breakfast is a hit and miss affair - sometimes the breakfast is cooked to order but staff are poorly trained with orders being incorrectly taken and wrong food being delivered which then appears to become “the guest’s fault”. On buffet days, you get your own choice of food but the selection is more limited although you can place customers orders.

Extremely disappointing
Pros:

The pool was lovely and warm. Our room was a suite and so very spacious.

Cons:

We stayed in a Super de luxe four poster room for two nights. After spending the day at the theatre we returned at 10pm to find our room had not been serviced. The bed had not been made, the dirty cups not replaced with clean ones and the bins not emptied. The tea bags, coffee pods and water were not replenished. On complaining to reception we were informed that 2 days before our stay it was company policy not to service rooms after the 1st night. How were we meant to know this? Yet we were staying in top of the range rooms.
Many of the facilities in the room were very tired or broken. For example the blind in the bathroom was broken as was one of the taps. We could not get the radiators to work.
The showers in the spa had no hot water.
We have stayed here many times before but will not be returning.

Doesn’t worth this money , poor service
Pros:

Among old trees and centuries old buildings , good location

Cons:

No daily house keeping , AC was not working and cold rooms, breakfast was not available for hot dishes one day, fire alarm test at 1am to wake you up, shower pressure is too low

OK
Pros:

One staff member at breakfast was friendly, helpful and efficient. All other staff we had contact with were pleasant enough but not overly friendly or efficient - just doing their job

Cons:

I called to confirm an upgrade to a suite and responded to the email sent. We did not receive the upgrade. One of the bar staff seemed to lack motivation. In general I would say the hotel was understaffed except at breakfast. Several times went to reception and no one there or evident.
