No breakfast all good
All good thank you
Staff were pleasant and efficient. My room had a view of the cathedral. Bed was clean and comfortable. Complimentary `bottled water was a nice touch in view of the hot weather.
The decor, furniture and fittings were rather "tired" (but everything worked).
The location is great
Its old, dated, looks dirty because of the carpets and furniture being so old.
My sink was blocked, had to pump the toilet handle so it would flush. Just over all a poor hotel and definitely not value for money.
room was not cleaned on Wednesday, our 2nd day. We were only told AFTER we complained that we needed to alert the desk/ reception if we wanted housekeeping. Even Premier Inn's do better than this and at a much lower price-point. We asked for compensation but were told we could only get this through Booking.com since we did not book directly with the Hotel. Advice please.
Hotel is NOT suitable for people with disabilities. One of us is in a wheelchair and has very limited mobility. The lifts are too small for a wheelchair and can only be operational if the wheelchair user can manipulate the wheelchair toward the side so a lot of shunting back-and forth was required to allow the lift door to close and operate.
Lovely central location
I booked the suite to take my mother away for a few days on a trip. The room was overlooking a new Travellodge. It was extremely noisy with recycling and deliveries from 5.30 in the morning., therefore it was not a relaxing break. It was hot and the air conditioning in the bedroom leaked water all over my mother's suitcase. This was not mended despite being reported to reception.
Great location
Noise from bottles being dropped into bin
Location
Reception: Reception button to get attention - did not work. Lifts were either worked or were out of order. Corridors to rooms: Carpets were filthy and worn and the air was stale and humid Room was relatively better with air con which you could control. Room had no Hotel guide or tv instructions. Buffet breakfast was poor and if you expected a warm breakfast forget it. While I was there, there was no hot water for tea until a day requested it. Decor over the hotel is dirty and sin need of re decorating. This hotel is in a prime location. I have stayed here on numerous occasions over the past few years and can say that for such a location this hotel does not deserve a four star status it has had previously. I I have stayed in other four star status hotels. I internationally and in the UK and given this is in Winchester with comparable four star status
Hotels this hotel cannot justify its status.
The staff appear to be disalusioned.
Staff were helpful
Room was very small, dated and dirty (very dusty).
Great location - lovely staff
Double bed was small
The location of the hotel is perfect - a few minutes walk to the station and next to the shops.
The reception and bar area is modern.
The room was ok. The toilet pan and sink were stained. Bathroom was tired. The hotel is tired and in need of a refurb. The breakfast was minimal and not of great quality. Definitely not worth £14 per head for a hot buffet breakfast. The toasters were old & took ages for the bread to toast. You would be better off walking to the town centre as there are lots of cafes to choose from.
The car park is very small and not big enough to fit the average car in the spaces however there is a public car park across the road at a cost of £19 for 24 hours.
Staff were really helpful despite a power cut and issues with systems
The room was small with no air con. A fan was provided but it was noisy. The corridors decor was old and poor with ripped carpets.
Its location.
It was run down. The shower leaked. There was used chewing gum in the bedside cabinet. We paid for an upgrade which should have included complimentary sleeps, didn’t have these, a fridge, this was just plonked in the room, coffee machine, the mugs didn’t fit the machine. We were supposed to have a view of the Cathedral, this was blocked by trees.
I rang up a week before to request an air-con room and was told it had been sorted, only to arrive and be told there was nothing on the booking. Got it sorted in the end.
Central
Just needed a hover in the hallway and entrance, and cigarette buts outside the entrance door.
Comfortable and amazing location
Warn, however the whole country was warm!! But no air con
The front of house manager and the beautiful stained glass light wall by John Piper
Hotel was tired and dated
carpets repaired with grey tape
wall coverings damaged
the rooms were dated there were no power sockets next to our beds
No aircon
they charged us £145 room only and then wanted another £15 for car parking. absolute racket
