Location excellent. Being refurbished at the moment so no restaurant and reception was not good. It could do with a lift because after a long day walking the stairs were hard and always like to be as high as possible.

Not really any amenities. With the construction noise in the morning and the lack of food and drink available it was just a room and no real hospitality experience
This was a great hotel. Unfortunately they are doing remodeling on most of the hotel, so it was not the normal experience, but it was fine for what it was. We stayed in the seperate building, where the rooms seemed to be a bit older. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The location is fantastic, right across from the castle walls. I really enjoyed the complimentary snack and beverages in the room, as well as the towel warmer in the bathroom. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was included and provided a whole spread of various hot and cold items. It was all delicious! Definitely recommend staying at this hotel for your time in Windsor.
As a regular visitor to the Castle hotel I wanted to to comment on the current situation. The hotel is going through a massive transformation and renovation project therefore things are limited in terms on rooms and services. The car park is still available, though with less room than usual due to the construction.
Despite this, the welcome is still incredibly warm (thanks to Leanne, Jorge and the the team) and they are still offering breakfast, lunch and supper as well as room service.
The menu is limited for obvious reasons, apart from Breakfast which is still a brilliant and huge selection, but still available.
The rooms are all upstairs and currently no lift so if you are mobility challenged, be aware that you'll need to get up a flight of approx 8-10 stairs. But the staff will help with luggage and are incredibly helpful.
Dom who is in the bar/restaurant is also super helpful.
Thanks team, you're doing a great job!
Location and cleanliness
That I wasnt informed about the works until after I had paid - something the staff told me wouldn’t have been the case had I booked with them direct and not through booking.com
The fact that guest had to pay £30 a day parking!
Stayed here before as the location is great
After booking on your site and paying fully non refundable you inform me by message that the hotel is under full renovation.
Excellent position. Really lovely and helpful staff working under difficult conditions during the major works taking place.
Everything although we did miss a lounge, because of the refurb.
The refurb finished.
Despite the ongoing refurbishment, you hardly notice it as a guest—everything runs smoothly as always. The reception staff are very friendly, and the breakfast team provided excellent service, sending me off early with a smile. Breakfast was as good as ever—well done! I’m looking forward to returning and seeing the finished refurbishment.
The staff were excellent, with a warm welcome at all encounters. Ready with a brolly when rain threatened too.
A lovely large and quiet double room with a very comfy bed. A walk in shower & lots of hot water.
A good breakfast with staff being flexible and working round the major renovations to provide a good space in the Balmoral Room for breakfast.
The chef had prepared me a special celebratory cake plate for my volunteer award at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, a lovely touch, greatly appreciated.
A pity we didn't get to see the main hotel building which was being renovated.
Great location. Lovely staff. Perfectly comfortable room. The products in the room were a very high quality and the teas/coffees and fridge items were very nice also. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options.
Under renovation which was unfortunate but this didn’t greatly impact our stay.
There was an event on the night we stayed and those guests left the reception toilets in a shocking state (vomit on the floor of the male toilets/unflushed toilets). My husband had to report to reception after breakfast. That wasn’t pleasant.
