Our second time to stay here, this time for a wedding anniversary party held in the hotel's function room. As previously, all staff were friendly and helpful. This was in a 'heatwave', so we were most impressed that the air-con had chilled our room, and the public spaces and function room were also cool. The hotel is clean and well maintained, and parking convenient (but see later note). Our Queen standard room was quiet and well laid out. We had one breakfast, which had a reasonable selection and was well cooked. Arriving at the peak time for breakfast we found the staff working very hard, but we had to wait for some items, and others had run out. We were not given a receipt on checking out, and the next day found that we had been double charged for parking (we had paid for a rate which included parking). The amount was refunded quickly and without argument. In all, we would recommend this hotel but we had some minor niggles. The staff are great, and will go out of their way to help you.
Brilliant service friendly staff shout out to Suleyman he made the kids breakfast experience!! Defo will be back!
Really nice hotel
Stuff are lovely
We have had a lovely experience at the holiday inn reading south. Rooms were lovely and clean, the hotel is child friendly but what made our stay was breakfast, food was fab but Suleyman made the experience so special especially for my 2 children aged 7 & 15, he went above and beyond to entertain them both and was an excellent host!

every time i have been to this hotel the service from Suleyman is great he is extremely helpful, funny and friendly. Great sense of humour from him, keep it up!
Location was perfect and only 15 minutes from city center. Air Conditioning was great and very useful specially it was summer time. Hotel has plenty of parking space for those driving to Reading. Finally, Lidl Supermarket is just steps away from the hotel.
The property is quite old and it’s definitely time for renovation. On the other hand, hotel doesn’t have an elevator, which is challenging for those staying at the second floor in case carrying heavy luggage or being disable.
