AVOID THIS HOTEL - Only the breakfast saved this from being a 'avoid at all costs'

most of the staff (not all) seemed to have wandered away from a special needs tour rather than be professionals in the hospitality industry. M/R steak was well done sent it back & it took 35mins before i got my meal back. The rest of our party had obviously finished their meal by then. Whe replacement turned up the waiter was wandering around with it not knowing which table it should go to. Asked for a dessert menu, then 20 mins later had to asak someone else for one...no idea what had happened to the first girl. Selection was poor so decided against it. Went to the bar & again couldnt find anyone to serve us. Had to go to reception to get someone to find the bar staff. Tried to buy some chocolate but he couldnt pronounce most of it.
Room was cold and no way of heating it up. Thermostat we were told didnt work, but we were told we could adjust the radiator...which we couldnt. Valve was jammed/seized shut so we went to bed in our clothes.

Anniversary/Engagement getaway

Breakfast was nice, good variety of choice 🙂
Comfy bed

Cons:

Was a bit annoyed that, I made the booking based on the swimming pool aspect to find, swimming lessons being held on the sunday morning with no due notice.
Reception staff were a little zoned out not very chatty.

Clean room, lovely staff, overall fantastic service.
Pros:

Very clean room as you would expect from holiday inn! Check-in was at 3 but they let us in early at 12.30. Staff were very polite and helpful, anything you needed wasn’t a problem, lovely hotel in great location! Would definitely recommend and would come here again.
