Some rooms overlook the bar internally. These should not be given to families with children as they end up hearing noise (every conversation in the bar) until after midnight. Also, when AC in rooms is not working, guests should be informed. We had an internal room overlooking the bar on the first night of a two night stay. The AC was only heating and not cooling and the room reached almost 26c. Once highlighted the next day we were moved for our second night to an external room.
The rooms were lovely
Nothing
Excellent breakfast, although we did request porridge fir the children and it didn't arrive? Didn't matter as there was plenty of other food, just not so much for our baby.
Nothing could have been better.
It was regrettable the swimming pool was out of action yesterday morning 1/3 as only informed when we got down to Health Suite with excited children. Also on Saturday, we managed and staff did best to accommodate..unlike last year there were back to back swimming lessons in half the pool Saturday morning which we were not informed of until we arrived down there 10 of us. Fortunately our children all under 5 so we were able to manoeuvre around (luckily) the one adult lane swimmer..we were informed if more arrived we would have to take turns with the children, we did feel, although paying for four rooms in the hotel and part of our stay o have access to the pool, we were a less priority than the other users. Again we were not informed of this beforehand, the onsite pool is one of the main reasons we choose this particular location so it could have been difficult.
That’s the bedroom was really big
The parking was a little expensive for two night. Swimming pool needs a lot of work on needs freshening up.
I loved that every member of staff appeared genuine, friendly and helpful
We didnt have our room rwplenished exacerbated by paying for an upgrade. However one of our nights upgrade was reimbursed. So all good.
Lovely clean and the room was great
Parking confusion led to a parking ticket it was dark when we arrived and as we don’t live in the area just parked in front of the hotel which we didn’t realise was not the hotels area paid for parking at the machine in the hotel but still got a ticket. Maybe a map or something next to the machine to show the right area to park so you don’t get a ticket would be better as when arriving in the dark it’s hard to see and with no real direction from anyone in the hotel to let us know you will get a ticket if you don’t park right in front of the hotel it led to us being caught out even though we thought we had paid. The hotel do refund us the parking but still cost us an extra £10 to pay the parking ticket on top of the 15 for parking.
This was our second visit and, if anything, it has only got better. The location (obviously unchanged :) can't be beaten and the staff have been consistently helpful, friendly and attentive. The room was large and comfy, the food in the bar arrived fast and was very well made. The pool was warm, clear and not too busy when we used it. Above all, however, the hotel represented an excellent value for money.
* The room heating was a bit of a hit and miss - not sure if due to user error, though!
* Poor drainage in the sink.
Great location and fantastic value for money
Pool facilities were a little worn and could do with some updates
