Great staff. Tired hotel with an unnecessary parking fee.
Pros:

The staff were fantastic throughout.

Cons:

The hotel, and especially our room, seemed rather tired. The carpet was worn and ripped in our room with no plugs by the bed.
It was disappointing to be charged to park at the hotel considering it was 30+ minutes walk from the train station and other public transport - how else are you going to get to the hotel?!

Excellent stay
Pros:

Stayed here recently and had a genuinely good experience from start to finish. The welcome was warm and friendly, and the staff were attentive throughout the stay. The location is convenient, making it easy to get around. Breakfast was good, and having a pool on site was a nice bonus.

The room itself was a decent size and the bed was comfy, nothing fancy but perfectly comfortable. Honestly, I can’t fault the experience, everything was exactly as it should be.

Would definitely stay again and happy to recommend to others looking for a reliable, well-run hotel in Guildford.

Lovely stay overall - great food, attentive staff and comfy rooms.
Pros:

It was walking distance to the social club, which was where I was going. Room was bigger than I expected and bed was really comfortable.

Cons:

Not really did not like but for improvement - some of the areas looked dated and may need refurbishing

Great location for visit to Guildford
Pros:

Stayed 2 nights to attend Guilfest. Clean, comfortable, quiet, excellent location for bus service, good value & easy booking and check in/out. Hotel responded to messages and helpful. We did not use the restaurant or amenities so cannot comment on those

Restaurant breakfast manager was a star
Pros:

The breakfast staff were brilliant when we had been told the wrong time for breakfast. They got us a cooked breakfast, and anything else we requested, with no fuss. The breakfast manager today (6th July) turned around our view of our stay, after a tricky start.

When we arrived on a Friday for a 3 night stay we had been given a twin bed and not a double. We asked to change rooms but were told it wasn’t possible. Then in the bar, the member of staff told me a price for a drink and then it was more at the till. He didn’t explain when I queried it, just huffed and expected me to pay the higher price, which I did. If he had explained why, or acknowledged the mistake and apologised it would have been better.

So, a not so good start on Friday evening, but the housekeeping staff and restaurant staff were brilliant and turned around our opinion of the customer service. The rooms were clean and well stocked.

Comfortable for a 1 night stay
Pros:

Reception is lovely, staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good

Cons:

Room was a little tired, flat pillows and lack of shower hat, biscuits in room. Carpet could do with a bit of a freshen up and the shower would be more pleasant with a glass screen rather than a shower curtain

Pros:

Breakfast is OK. Dinner was disappointing. It looks like those dishes we ordered were the reheat foods!

Cons:

Room is old, swimming pool too small, gym only open up to 8pm and 7pm during weekend, definitely not a resort types of hotel.
