After moving all of my belongings into the room, I found that the window frame in my room was broken. While the front desk worker was sympathetic to the issue, the maintenance guy had an attitude. When I pointed out how easily the window would pop back open after he “fixed” it, he said it didn’t really matter because anybody who wanted to commit a burglary would just break the glass, anyway. By this logic, there’s no need for locks on the door because they can be picked, or the door can be kicked in - - and it certainly didn’t give me any confidence that I would be safe during my stay, nor that my property would be in my room when I returned at the end of the day after being gone 8 hours for work. The maintenance guy also noted that, it’s “just how it is with a property that was built around 1998”. The bed was rather hard, and the pillows were among the flattest on which I’ve ever slept. There was a constant odor of marijuana in the parking lot of the hotel - - with the real cherry on top being when I was packing my vehicle on the day I checked out, and the guy sitting in the driver’s seat of the truck parked directly next to mine, drinking a beer and smoking a joint AT 7:30 IN THE MORNING, as he watched me pack my vehicle. By the time I brought the last load of my luggage down, a group of several other men had joined the first one around his truck, drinking beer and smoking marijuana. When I told the staff of the hotel about this experience, the staff member apologized for what he termed as my “perception of our property”. This was also the first time I’ve ever been contacted directly by a hotel employee after checking out, with a specific solicitation to leave a review - noting that the employee’s boss would buy him lunch if he got more reviews left that mentioned his name than any other employees did with their names. To add insult to injury, the hotel never credited my account with the Marriott Bonvoy points I earned on this stay, despite verifying my Bonvoy information multiple times during the check-in process. I do NOT recommend staying at this hotel if you value your safety and security. It’s a run-down property, with open drug use taking place on the premises on a seemingly regular basis.
Parking available. Excellent breakfast. Very kind
Despite it being a hotel that doesn't allow pets, we saw three dogs on all floors.
it smells very musty. We have a damp allergy. (Moho, Dogs and cats)
We decided to stay there for the rest of the time because they were kind enough to move us to level 3, where there is no humidity (mojo). But we try to avoid being in the hotel as much as possible because we keep encountering dogs in the elevators and in the reception area. We asked why they advertise online that they don't accept pets, since we had seen 3 dogs, and their response was that they were service dogs. We are 100% sure they were not service dogs
Booked to stay here after a long flight into TPA. Lady at check in was really nice but immediately informed us that the elevator was out of action. She kindly offered assistance to get our bags to our 2nd level room.
Something we noticed immediately was the dampness in the air and the unmistakable odour. I will say that we slept great on a very comfortable bed but sinuses were dealing with damp congestion the next day.
Complimentary breakfast was ok but nothing special. We managed our luggage back down to reception to check out in 2 trips.
Overall mixed, needs the dampness/mold dealt with urgently as cosmetically the rooms look pretty good. Based on the current upkeep of the hotel we would not stay at this Fairfield again. On the face of it though a good hotel that needs some TLC.
Close to airport. Staff was very welcoming. Breakfast had free range eggs!
We stayed in two different rooms and the second room was better than the first but both needed updating bad. The location was kind of sketchy.
Clean and easy check in
Nothing
Close to the airport
Breakfast could of had more
Doing renovations and elevator wasn’t working
Staff did help us but 3rd floor room
Room was clean and spacious. Staff were super nice and helpful. Great breakfast selections, I especially loved the topping bar for the oatmeal. Easy location, plenty of parking. Very happy with our stay.
Stay here one night and it did the job. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good.
The Breakfast was good. It was above average for a Hotel overnight stay.
The elevator/ Lift was inoperational. The Air Conditioner in room leaked far too much condensation onto the carpet turning it into a wet puddle. They needed repairs.
Overall, it was a good stay. Helpful and nice staff. Breakfast was ok. No real complaints. My stay was worth the price for it. Sadly, the elevator stopped working about halfway thru my stay. The outside pool was intact and working. The gym was fine. Not a huge room but not a little box either.
Hotel needs updating. Wallpaper coming off the walls and bathroom pretty old. Beds need replacing. Staff were very nice and friendly.
Staff was amazing! Especially the lady at the desk at our check in.
Staff is exceptionally attentive and courteous. They actually do go above and beyond. Thank you Marriott.
Warm welcome and the staff is very friendly. Greeted with cookies and candies, and bottled water. Room is spacious but the mattress is too soft and springy, that should be replaced. Breakfast is decent. Location is convenient.
I stayed at this hotel from Sept 1-6, 2025 & I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The rooms are clean & we'll maintained & Amber, the cleaning gal on the 3rd floor was very nice & helpful to us. I have to say that Denise Hadley at the front desk is absolutely exceptional at her job. I was there at a time when a male customer approached her in an aggressive manner. I listened & watched as Denise handled this situation & she stayed professional thru it all. (I retired after 21 yrs of working with public & im not sure i could have maintained the level of professionalism that Denise did). Every staff person that i cane into contact with during this 5 day stay was very friendly & very helpful. It made it hard to leave). I can assure you that if you choose to stay in this hotel, you will be in good hands & we'll taken care of. 😊. Thank you all!!
