Predatory charging practices
Pros:

As an international traveler that use to work for Marriott I must sadly say this hotel is not living up to the basic standards and has instead decided to engage in predatory billing practices. We had come to this location for the national dance competition as a family trip. While i totally understand having that many kids in one location can be stressful on any venue there are things that happened that should not have ever happen. Corporate should look into the management as their actions and oversight will directly hurt this location. While we appreciate the smoke free environment and the measures that they take to ensure that for guest they are not maintaining the system correctly. We personally witness not only ourselves but every family being charged a smoking fee of $400 in there rooms. While these meters are new to the industry and require monthly calibration and constant oversight. This is not being done. Fair warning to any future travelers. These new meters can be triggered by something as simple as hair dryers and shower steam over 30 day period and make them trigger for every guest if not cleaned and maintain correctly. When presented with the charge we offers to go to the room with the manager to evaluate the meter and confirm their was no smoking. Instead of handling this manner in a professional manner which was all we asked he instead proceeded to inform me that is was my 12 year old daughter and she is probably lying to me. We could take it up with our credit card company. While a one off is totally understandable we personally witnessed the same exact interaction to almost every parent with the same responses from management. This predatory pattern witnessed makes me question integrity of this location. What steps are they taking to ensure housekeeping is not vaping in our rooms. Did they clean the meters after our stay or leave it go off again for the next guest. Are they just targeting groups for easy fees. Did they actually clean the rooms after the made up charges or just throw another unknowing family in there and hit them with the charges as well.
Also we attempted to eat at this location and were basically ignored for 45 minutes trying to get a simple Non alcoholic drinks. Of the families from the event that did manage to get food everyone ended up sick. Please be cautious of traveling to this location and the please keep an your credit cards. Marriott please look into this location as things happening that are not right.

For the reason of our stay it was a great location

Cons:

It took forever for simple requests such as more towels or hand soap to be fulfilled.
There was watered down soap, no hair dryer and housekeeping never cleaned the room once.
The place is also not up to expectations for what was paid and for being a Marriott. It was a major disappointment.

This was one of the best times my wife and I have had. :)
Pros:

Breakfast was awesome, and just next door is the aquarium. Again Awesome, just to get up and walk to beach. My wife was in heaven :)

Cons:

Well they could fix the entrance where it is easier to see. Other than that all is well.

Overall it was a nice peaceful stay, would not choose to come back though.

It was close to the pier. The beach was not very busy at this location. It was a very clean hotel

Cons:

Some of the bar tenders were slow and not very friendly. One day at the outdoor bar we stood in line for 20 minutes and the bar tenders never acknowledged us and it was not that busy. He was slow and acted like he did not want to be there. So we left that day and went to the pier to get a drink. There was no music at the pool. The pool did not have a “vacation vibe.” You could hear the music from the hotel pool next door and wished you had it at this hotel. The hot tub was nice size but only had 3 jets working.

Vacation Time!
Pros:

I liked the two swimming pools and the hottub and the breakfast along with the upper deck food...

Cons:

The only thing is not having enough towels in the room and we saw the small hanging sign on the towel rack saying to hang your towels and reuse them each day...
