A convenient place to
Pros:

The accommodation was very close to the ferry terminal. The staff wer pleasant , the catering was very good and reasonably priced.

Cons:

The room itself was a little cramped and could be improved with a bit of a makeover.

Nice location looking over to Jura comfy bed good hospitality
Pros:

Second time staying here , despite a lot of bad reviews I enjoyed it again , traditional old building yes it could do with a touch up here and there but for the price you pay you can’t complain. Staff are friendly food is lovely .

A warm welcome and a great meal
Pros:

The warm welcome that we received from Marian and her husband, the excellent dinner we enjoyed, and the convivial atmosphere in the restaurant and the bar were highlights of our trip to Islay. Our room was very spacious, and in all of our Scotland travels this bathroom had the only shower with a proper door instead of a partition that doesn't keep the water in. We stayed elsewhere for our first few nights on Islay, but we chose to stay here for our final night on the island because we were taking the 7 am ferry the following morning and this hotel is a one minute walk from the ferry dock. We had the "Islay" room, which overlooks the ferry dock. It was fun to watch the ferries load/unload that evening from our window. We departed before the included breakfast could be served, but the hotel gave us sandwiches, fruit, a drink, and several other items in lieu that we took onto the ferry and ate during the crossing. All in all, a brief stay but a great stay.

Cons:

The rooms are a little dated, but the positive aspects of the hotel make up for that.

Shower dirty, landlady unprofessional stayed 3nights no sheet change or towels which were a decade old , building not seen a paint brush for a long time such a disappointment food overpriced but ok £2.50 for a slice of bread

Fabulous place!
Pros:

Such a pretty location, right by the water and the boats. The owners and staff were great, very helpful.
Good food in the restaurant and for breakfast, too.
There's a lovely atmosphere there, which adds to the experience.

Cons:

All good. Parts are a bit dated, but that adds to its charm. I'd hate to see it tarted up and modernised, would spoil it.

Great fun
Pros:

It is old fashioned, like travelling back in time. We had a great time! Staff was great, breakfast was good and especially the hotel bar was fantastic with good food, an excellent selection of mostly local whiskies and a great atmosphere. Our group had loads of fun interacting with other guests and the staff.

Cons:

It is dated. At certain areas in the hotel, there is a distinct odour. The towels were drenched in fabric softener so it was impossible to get myself dry after a shower and the smell of the towels was completely over the top. Except for the ferry, there is not much close so you need a car or taxi to go anywhere, bicycling may be an option for some. But notwithstanding the dislikes, I would definitely visit again.

Handy location when arriving by ferry late evening. (Although the sign that says port askaig hotel is rather hidden by trees so we did loop around a bit first). Really welcoming staff, and nice little bar offering a range of islay and jura whisky and helpful guidance on these. Good filling scottish breakfast to set us on our way the next morning.

Cons:

A bit of a warren of rooms, at different levels. Old fashioned but comfortable enough beds.

Overpriced for accommodations.
Pros:

Location is great. Adequate size of room.

Cons:

Overpriced. Decor was substandard. Baseboards need cleaning. Shower needs grouting. Bed was uncomfortable. The closing of the front door was very noisy which vibrated the room we were staying in.

港に近いし、目の前にお店、ガソリンスタンドがあるのが便利。ウイスキー旅行ではボウモアやポートエレンを拠点にする方が便利だけれど、朝の散歩で目の前にジュラ島が見える光景も良き。
