Pros:

I stayed whilst attending a wedding. The room was basic but mostly clean. I had no issues. The gym had a good range of machines if slightly outdated. Generally a good stay.

Bathroom floor was filthy when putting a white towel on it, edges you could see it.

Plenty of parking and a smooth check in but very little information is given. Stayed for one night to celebrate anniversary. The room was similar to a travelodge room but had everything you needed. No air conditioning so the room was like a sauna and uncomfortable so we had very little sleep. The spa was okay, the hot tubs were closed for cleaning but even when open were grubby. The jacuzzi wasn't working properly, sauna was great, steam room had tissue over the sensory so we took it off the first day and it was still in there the next so it had not been cleaned. Breakfast was a good selection but had clearly been sat out for a while and was dry. The bar wasn't particularly welcoming and was dark and dingy. It wasn't quite the relaxing break we had wanted.

Pros:

Stayed 4 nights the first 3 days the room was not cleaned despite we left message asking for housekeeping. No refill for soap/shampoo . For the price , it’s not worth the stay.

Quieter at the rear of the hotel
Pros:

The reception manager Leo assisted in allocating a room to the rear/side of the hotel which made a huge difference to my stay, as I managed to sleep with no road noise from the front of the hotel, many thanks!

We recently stayed at the Hogs Back hotel and spa for two nights.
And were extremely impressed with the customer service. It is very rare to find a hotel where across the board the staff are helpful and polite and greet to you with a smile when we visited the health club we were offered a tour of the facilities and the procedure for borrowing towels, robes and padlocks was clearly explained to us by a girl called Katie without us even having to ask. she was excellent! Equally, we had a problem with our television in the room and this was quickly rectified by Leo on reception who could not have been more accommodating. The restaurant staff were also friendly and helpful. One member of staff who stood out here was a girl called Izzy who again was exceptional.
Well done, hogs back, you either have very good customer service training or are very particular in your recruitment process.

Great hotel, great facilities considering the price. Great service from the staff. Lovely comfortable stay in a good sized room. The hotel is next to a busy road so I would probably recommend to ask for a room at the back of the hotel to minimise thevtraffic noise.
My only disappointment was that (in pur room, for this stay) all the power sockets are located at the opposite end of the room to the headboard of the bed. So we could nog charge our phones and have them in easy reach, and the fan that was provided too far away to be very helpful
