We stayed for two days to get an overview of Geneva. Hotel is centrally located and right on the tram line plus three mins from the central train station. Rooms are big and clean. Main attraction is the location as it’s within two klicks of the main tourist attractions.

Really disappointing experience given the £€ of this hotel. Had to relocate rooms after a long day travel and wake young kids up as toilet was not working. The hotel’s response was to upgrade our room after we had to wake kids and repack and feel that is a good enough attempt - we were there for one night and only wanted to sleep and paid premium for what should be working facilities. The hotel director has not tried to reach out and they blamed booking.com process, you have my email address.

We were supposed to stay at sister hotel nearby, but on arrival found it closed for rénovations with a note saying booking had been transferred to Hôtel Royal.
Staff were very friendly and soon had us settled in our room. It was very nice, tea and coffee making facilities, very comfortable and quiet.
There was a good selection at the buffet breakfast, plenty of tables, but fairly quiet when we were there.
Close to main train station, which is a 6 minute journey from airport, so ideal for transport and tram lines, visitors to city are given a Genève transport card valid for public transport in city. Also short walk to Lakeside and main sights of city.
Enjoyed our short stay and wouldnt hesitate to return.

Great location! Restaurants and shops close by and only a 5 min walk to the train station. Hotel is beautiful. The staff were friendly and the check in and out process was easy. We were able to store our bags after check out so we can tour until we needed to go to the airport. They were tagged and stored safely. The room we had was an executive suite. It was beautiful and specious…..large bathroom? Very clean. They provided extras in the bathroom and tea and coffee facilities as well. We had dinner at the hotel. It was nice but expensive. As it wasn’t walled in, we could see everyone walking by in the lobby. Kids were banging on the piano which was annoying but otherwise, fabulous experience at Hotel Royal!

Hotel check in was seamless, arrived early, stored luggage and explored city.

Pros: trams, trains busses all on the door step, lidl next door and places to eat available.

Its located out of old town so a short walk to the lake, plenty of options to get to old town from there.

Clean hotel with a calm feel, cosy evening spaces in the bars, and reception areas.

Sauna and steam relaxing, small but i had the place to myself so was great.

Cons; the room was incredibly dark, lots of lights in and around the room but on a winters evening it lacked actual ight.

No kettle just a coffee machine, coffee not topped up - top up available if requested on collection from reception

Definatelty no sound bariers - can hear trains and everyone walking past the room

Overall room was cosy and executive room with a family of 4 felt tight as the sofa bed opens out in front of the bed so movement around the room becomes cramp. Id say junior suite if you have older kids...although the main bed was huge!

It was short good stay, it was quite busy due to holiday season, so we have to wait until the check in time, but all was good, great location, and clean room.

Nice hotel, didn’t disappoint. Reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. The style is quite old fashioned but lovely. Room was a good size with fabulous renovated bathroom. Bed a little hard. Wasn’t impressed with plastic glasses and cardboard cups - this really lets the standard of the hotel down considering the price paid.
Breakfast was adequate. Good coffee machine, nice bread but cooked food was cold. They had not turned on the heater under the hot plate for some reason. There was no one around to talk to about this as breakfast is self service.
Good location for station and metro.

Beautiful hotel, with friendly helpful staff ! Room was lovely & clean. Situated close to the railway station which had amazing links to the airport. Also close to the lake, just a short stroll from the hotel. Just one thing, if you’re visiting from UK … travel adapters don’t work in the sockets, we had to leave our phones at reception to be charged & I wasn’t able to use my straighteners. Other than that minor set back we had a fab weekend at The Royal !

The reception staff were lovely and welcoming. They were very helpful and gave some great recommendations for the area.

The customer service at this hotel is by far the best! From the reception staff to the bellhop and every other employee we encountered. The Christmas decor was beautiful, nutcracker theme throughout

Lovely hotel situated near the train station. The photos on easyJet website make it look as if the hotel is situated on lake Geneva which it isn’t. Staff were friendly, rooms were clean but far too warm even with the air con turned down.

It was amazing experiment. the staff were very provisional and so friendly. Location is in the center and every where you may need to go can be through walking. despite I've received a free transportation tickets in Geneva city, I didn't use it. Also the breakfast was good and Muslims can find the suitable foods to eat.
The room was very clean and comfortable.

I’ve stayed here over eight times in the last year. The staff are world class, the service excellent the rooms (as long as you can afford the slightly larger standard rooms) also lovely but I’ll be looking around for my next trip. The breakfast room is terrible, they should move diners to the actual restaurant and not use a conference room. The WiFi in rooms is average when it shouldn’t be and no air con in summers is a drawback. They say it’s not allowed but I’ve stayed elsewhere and had air con in the summer. The lunch and dinner restaurant lovely and food good but the menus are tattered. They also need a couple Swiss classics on the menu like a steak French fries (not the one currently doused w gravy), Viande Sache ets. All in all is better than good but could be better. Still love the location!

Standard rooms are small.
The Executive room is very good in size.
The staff were very attentive and very helpful.
Breakfast is expensive.
The 15:00 check-in time is too late.
Good classic decoration.

The service was good however the room is where the points get docked. I will first list the good, then the bad.

Good -
Service was good, the people were very nice.
Room did not smell despite multiple carpet stains.
Sheets were clean before we arrived and after room servicing each time.
Room radiator worked well to heat up the room.
Bathroom was very clean.
The tub was nice, usable bathtub for full size adult.
Very responsive when we asked for more pillows and towels via phone.
TV worked with general satellite channels.

Bad -
The room service food was awful! It was high priced and poor quality.
The room had stains all over the carpet. There was no smell however so that’s good.
The room safe handle was broken and missing therefore not usable.
The room coffee pot had a broken water holder, and the front mug holder was broken.
The rooms mattress also had a similar stain on it, below the sheets. We noticed this when checking the mattress (don’t worry we didn’t find anything!)
The windows sill had some pretty bad water damage, but this was not a big deal.
Rooms are very thin and you can hear the people above you pretty loudly when they walk and jump around.

The breakfast was a good selection, however I have a seafood allergy and the salmon is kept dead center between the cheese and meat, where other guests used the same tongs to grab each item, due to this. I was not willing to risk that in case of a reaction and contamination.
I put this separate because that’s not the hotels fault, but perhaps a re-layout could help other guests who have allergies?

Many of these complaints did not bother us, however, for the price of a 4 and a half star hotel, I do not feel that we received that.

Location was great. Few steps! You are in the middle of everything or connectivity. Rooms are good, clean and made up well every day. It's a value for money

Very nice hotel in the heart of Geneve, great stay, great staff ! Maybe the SPA need a little refresh but that's a detail,
