Fletcher Hotel Restaurant Victoria-Hoenderloo

We konden geen gebruik maken van het restaurant. Dat was niet duidelijk aangegeven.

Bij aankomst bleek dat er geen optie was om in het restaurant te eten, alles was volgeboekt. Daarover hadden we geen bericht gekregen. Daarbij werd aangegeven dat je geen gebruik mocht maken van Thuisbezorgd wat impliceerde dat je ergens buiten de deur zou moeten gaan eten. De communicatie hierover verliep onprettig, niet erg gastvrij.

De bediening bij diner was onprofessioneel door ons te melden dat we zonder reservering geen plaats konden krijgen.
Omdat je midden in het bos zit, kon je niets anders vinden. Gelukkig konden we makkelijk terecht aan de bar met de snacks als Loaded Nachos en kipstukjes. Had de ober best aan kunnen geven.

When you walk up the stairs into your room, the stairs are shaky.. which feels a bit odd. Also, no mini fridge inside the room, whilst that would have been much better.

Mogelijkheid tot dineren was er niet (restaurant was al om half 2 volgeboekt voor de avond) en dat is erg onhandig als het dorp 5km verderop ligt en je als oververhitte wandelaar binnenkomt. Er werd aan de incheckbalie niet meegedacht om een oplossing te vinden. Servicebereidheid op het terras was ook niet erg groot, personeel had geen interesse. Het hotel is een verzameling barakken op een terrein met zes gehorige appartementen per gebouw en een wenteltrap waarop onmogelijke zachtjes valt te lopen.

When we arrived, we were amazed by how nice the property looked, and we were genuinely excited to spend the night there. Unfortunately, the moment we got to our room, we started realizing how bad the experience was going to be.

1. Don't expect any peace and quiet in your room.
The soundproofing was terrible. I could hear the guests upstairs, not just their footsteps, but even their conversations. The bathroom was the worst; you could hear practically everything.
Our room was also right behind the entrance, and the doors did almost nothing to block noise. If someone walked through the hallway at 1:00, we could hear them walking, talking, sneezing—everything. It made it very difficult to sleep.

2. Your back may not thank you in the morning.
The bed was unbelievably soft. When I woke up, I genuinely regretted not sleeping on the floor because it might have been more comfortable. Of course, the hotel also gives you the opportunity to buy their blanket, pillow, and even their bed.

3. The smell in our room was awful.
This may have been specific to our room, but it smelled strongly of weed. At first, my girlfriend and I actually disagreed about whether the smell was there. After we switched sides of the bed, I had to admit that she was right. The smell was definitely there, and it was very unpleasant.

I can't really comment on the hotel's other amenities because we arrived intending to spend time in our room. For information about the facilities, I would recommend reading other reviews.
After spending more than a week traveling and staying in four different hotels, this was easily the worst experience of the trip. If I had needed to stay for more than one night, I honestly would have left and found somewhere else.

There was no refrigerator in the room. Would have been nice. We stayed 3 nights and there was no room service. Just one small hand towel and one bath towel each. Only one paper cup per person. No glass or holder for toothbrushes. We could pick up extras at the reception but it would have been nice if those supplies had been in the room.
We were told the tennis courts were not available, but when we got there, they were. Not in very good condition though. The grounds could use some TLC too.

Not enough personal in kitchen caused that we can nit have a dinner!!! The snacks we got instead were very low quality. Noisenin the room from doors and stairs at the entrance. Not possibility to make tea in room. Water pressure almost zero.

In de kamer cq badkamer, weinig plankjes en haakjes. Raam bij het toilet was nauwelijks geblindeerd
Veel ingrediënten van het ontbijt waren om 09.15 al op, en werden niet meer aangevuld.

Het gebouw geeft wat geluid. Buren sluiten hun raam en dan trilde er wat door inbdie gevel dus ik ben wrl benieuwd hoe dat bijv met harde windbis.
